Be Inspired Wednesday #85 and a Little Sneak Peek!

Hip Hip Hooray!  It's Wednesday!  And the Cuttlebug Challenge is today!
The design team has been busy creating pennants to inspire you this week!
I have two pennant projects to share with you today!

I made this first one using stiff felt that I cut to the shape of a pennant and
measured it around the dowel so that I could staple it to fit.
Then I covered the staples with pink felt that has a peel and stick backing.
Using that same pink felt, I cut flowers with ProvoCraft's Cuttlebug 2x2 Flower #1die set #37-1206.
Then I added buttons, string, ribbon, ric-rac, and flower rhinestones to finish this fun little project!

Here is my second pennant project!

Again, I cut the shape of a pennant with K&Co designer paper and a larger one from SU! Soft Suede cardstock.  I also cut two Spellbinders ovals, one from Neenah Cream and one from the same designer paper and a Spellbinders Scalloped Oval from the Soft Suede paper.  With the same papers, I cut the butterfly with the ProvoCraft Cuttlebug Butterfly combo die #37-1651.  I embossed it with the ProvoCraft Cuttlebug Textile Texture embossing folder #37-1153.  I sponged everything with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo and Antique Linen inks. I added the button and bows and ribbon to hang it with to complete this pennant.

The scripture I stamped is a little sneak peek of a lovely scripture stamp set
being released on the first of June from Our Daily Bread designs

Come join us at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog and create your pennant project!
You could be the winner of five Cuttlebug Folders that will be given away to one winner of the challenge!!!

Before I go, I am so excited to tell you that I am a finalist to win the
Midnight Madness 'Priscilla Award'!  Please go visit Priscilla's Blog
to get all the details and I would be honored if you would vote for me!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  See you again soon!

Amazing Grace America

Hello again!  I wanted to get one done for The Shabby Tea Room and Stampin' Sisters in Christ and just barely have it done before the deadline!  The Tea Room challenge was to make a Stars and Stripes card for Memorial Day and the Stampin' Sisters challenge was to incorporate music on your card.  I used two Our Daily Bread designs stamp sets.  Amazing Grace Hymn and God Bless America.  Two fantastic sets that I just love!!!  The hymn is stamped on designer paper and then embossed with the Cuttlebug Stars embossing folder.  The flag is also stamped on the same designer paper and colored with SU! chalks.  After putting the whole thing together I sprayed it with Pearl Glimmer Mist!  I know I say it all the time, but I seriously love Glimmer Mist!!!  Well, hope you have a great Sunday, and see you again soon!

Here are the supplies I used for this card:

Neenah Cream Cardstock
SU! Soft Suede Cardstock
K&Co Designer Paper
SU! Chalks
Ribbon and Bow Easy
Tim Holtz Vintage Photo and Antique Linen Ink
Memento Brown Ink
Spellbinders Square and Ribbon Tag
SU! Border Punch

And a little bit of lace!

Midnight Madness #54

Hey y'all!  I had a chance to play with this week's Midnight Madness sketch!  That always makes for a good day!  And I just love what buttons and pearls can do for a card!  And look at this pretty vintage-y flower that Priscilla sent to me as part of my Midnight Madness Princess award goodies!  Thank you Priscilla!  This Corrie Ten Boom quote is so beautiful and is part of the new set from Our Daily Bread designs called As You Graduate.  I used Spellbinders dies to cut out the quote and the mat and then I used another Spellbinders die to emboss the designer paper underneath the ovals.
Thanks for another great sketch Priscilla!

Here are the supplies I used:

Neenah Cream Cardstock
K&Co Designer paper

Be Inspired Wednesday #84

Good morning!  I hope you are all having a great day!
Well, it's Wednesday, and time for another Be Inspired Challenge at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog!
The design team has been working with photos this week.  For my project today, I am using this adorable photo of my sweet grandson from a couple of years ago!  Isn't he just precious?  This particular photo gave me plenty of room to stamp a partial scripture from a new Our Daily Bread designs stamp set.  On the background layer, I ran a piece of designer paper through my Cuttlebug with the Moroccan Screen embossing folder from Provocraft.   I also used parts of the Provocraft Vintage Corner dies to 'frame' the photo.  I colored the pearls with a copic marker to match the designer paper!
And that is it!  So fun to add photos to your cards!

Here are the supplies I used today:

Neenah Cream Cardstock
SU! Chocolate Chip Cardstock
DCWV Designer Paper (Linen Closet)
Pearls
Copic Marker #BG72

When We Were Young

Good morning! I'm here today with a little inspiration using photos!
All you need is a Cuttlebug machine and a few other supplies to make this keepsake!

I cut a piece of cardstock 4x9 and used the Victoria(37-1916) embossing folder by Provocraft
on both ends. I also cut my photo and mats and then sponged all the pieces with
Tim Holtz Antique Linen and Vintage Photo ink. I used Beacon 3-in-1 Craft Glue to glue
the mats to the photo and proceeded to put everything together.

The 3-in-1 glue came in handy to adhere the cardstock around the candle! Just remember to hold it in place for a few minutes to help it stay in place. The two ends in the back didn't meet all the way, so I cut another oval and mats with a pretty scripture stamp from Our Daily Bread designs to hide the ends and give the finished candle a more complete look. After gluing the ovals to the front and back, I used a couple of rubber bands to keep the whole thing in place to dry for about 20 minutes or so.

Here is a closer look at the embossing.

And there you have it! I just added a little bow and some pearls to complete this project! I hope this has inspired you to make a candle keepsake of your own with your Cuttlebug!  You can check out another really cute idea from Ellen at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog

May He Give

Good morning!  It's almost the weekend!!!  Hope you will all have a great one!
I wanted to share this card with you that I made with one of the new sets from
and was designed by Dina Kowal!  She designed this set so that it could be split up in several ways,
which makes this such a versatile set to have in your collection!  For this card, I split it in half
and included the scripture in between the two halves.  To keep it simple,
I just sponged the image and included a pretty bow and
some pearls that I colored with a black copic marker.

Check out how two of my fellow ODBD sisters used this set:

Isn't that cool?

No Safer Place

Good Thursday morning to you!  Hope your week is going great!  As usual I've been playing!  I made this card for the Shabby Tea Room Challenge to use chipboard and for the Stampin'Sisters in Christ Challenge to use the colors, brown, blue and white.  I just love this set from Our Daily Bread designs called God's Hands!  The image is so powerful, I think!  The surrounding frame is made from chipboard covered in designer paper and then sponged with ink.  The middle part of the largest flower is also chipboard covered in designer paper.  The little center of the two other flowers are colored with a copic marker to match the color of the paper!  Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Here are the supplies I used:

Neenah White cardstock
DCWV designer paper Linen Closet
Square Spellbinders

Buttons and Bows for Mom

Happy Mother's Day to all of the Moms out there!
Recently I found a gorgeous creation by Cheryl seen here, and knew I had to create one for my mother!  Thank you for the inspiration Cheryl!

I cut the heart shapes with a Spellbinders die out of chipboard and pretty designer papers.
I grabbed my stash of buttons and ribbons and charms and bling and lace and distress inks
and of course Our Daily Bread designs stamps and got to work!
Oh and also, Glimmer Mist!  I used Brick Mist to spray on some pink velvet ruffled ribbon and it matched perfectly with the designer paper!

Did you see the tiny little photo of my mother, my brother and me?
This was so much fun to create!  And I know my Mom will love it!

Have a great day everyone!

Time for some Midnight Madness!

Good morning again!  This is my second post of the day!  Unusual for me huh?!  Well, it was time for some Midnight Madness!!!  Did you know that I am now a princess?  A Midnight Madness Princess that is!  If you've never played with the Midnight Madness ladies, what are you waiting for?  Priscilla is celebrating her one year blogaversary this month.  I received the Princess award for playing in the weekly sketch challenges almost every week for their first year!!!  You can see the award on my sidebar!  Thanks Priscilla and MM Team!!!  I am so excited!  Also, on my sidebar, you can see the blog candy they are giving away this month! Whoa!  What a pile of goodies!!!!  Wouldn't it be fun to win that?!!!  Ok, back to the card!  I used one of the new releases from Our Daily Bread designs called As You Graduate.  I shortened the image from the top to fit the card design.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the sentiment just right.  I sewed the buttons on by hand!  So I am also entering this into the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge this week to use stitching.  (I think they really meant with a sewing machine but this is all I can do! LOL!)

Anyway, hope you all have a great Friday and thanks for stopping by for a second time today!

Stamping with Betty!

Good morning!!!  This is for the Stamping in Time with Betty on the Our Daily Bread designs blog.  Our assignment is to use any ODBD stamp and incorporate something old, something new and something received from a friend.  Well, my something new is this beautiful designer paper from DCWV called Linen Closet.  It's so pretty!  Stamping on the designer paper is one of my favorite things to do these days!  For my something old, I used ribbon that I have had in my stash forever!  It matches the paper nicely.  And for the other part of the challenge, I used a cross charm that I recently received from my ODBD sister, America!  What a sweetie she is!!!  I did use my shank remover to cut the little hanging loop off the charm so that I could just glue it on the bow.  I sponged the edges of the designer papers for an antique look and then just added the prima pearl swirls and a little prima flower!  The pearls are from a bigger pearl design and I just cut off the swirls I wanted to use for this card and will save what's left for another card!
That's my little tip for the day!  Thanks for stopping by!!!

Here are the supplies I used for this card:

Neenah Cream cardstock
DCWV Linen Closet designer paper
Spellbinders Ovals
Prima Pearls
Prima flower
Cuttlebug Vintage corner die

Be Inspired Wednesday 82

Happy Wednesday everyone!
Today's Cuttlebug Challenge Blog challenge is very special!  We are honoring Mother's!
This week, I altered a candy box that I saved from Christmas. It was just the right size for my cards and I knew I would do something with it eventually!  I covered it in designer paper, wrapping it similar to the way I would wrap a present.  The bottom part of the box is sprayed with Glimmer Mist.  For the top, I added lace trim, a cuttlebug embossed panel, a flower and a tag.  The flower on top is made from several white flowers that are sprayed with several different Glimmer Mists.  There is a homemade flower in the midst made from light blue seam binding that is also sprayed with Glimmer Mist!  I've just learned how to make those little homemade flowers!  Sort of gives the box a little vintage touch, I think.

Now, for the cards!
I made four matching cards, two of them with a scripture from Romans and
two with a quote from Corrie ten Boom.  These could be given for a variety of occasions.

Here are the supplies I used for this Mother's Day project:
Spellbinders Ovals and Scalloped Ovals
Martha Stewart Punch
SU! Soft Suede Designer Paper and Cardstock
SU! Pretties Kit
Neenah Cream Cardstock
Lace and ribbon from my stash
I really appreciate you spending part of your Wednesday with me!
Head on over to the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog
and check out the other wonderful projects
the design team came up with this week!
So much to ooh and aah over!!!

Happy May!

Good morning to you!  It's May and time for new Our Daily Bread designs releases!  We are having a 'May Day' blog hop today and if you arrived here from the incredible Julie's blog, then you are following along correctly!   If you just happened to stop by, you can start the hop at the ODBD blog.  The hop will run through May 3, at 8pm EST. The winners will be announced on the ODBD blog on Tues. May 4.  Kelley has generously offered to give three prizes of $15.00 Gift Certificates to the ODBD Store for stamps.  For a chance to win, just collect our flowers(words), leave a comment, then return to the ODBD Blog and send Grace an email at gnywening@yahoo.com stating that you have completed the hop, left comments on each blog and then give her the words(flowers) you found.
Also, if for any reason you cannot leave a comment on someone’s blog, just let Grace know,
and she will still enter you in the drawing.  We want you to have fun, not stressed out!

Today, I am sharing a card I made using the new set called God's Hands!  This is such a powerful image and the accompanying scriptures and sentiments are perfect for the image.  For my design, I used the sketch provided this week at Midnight Madness.  The background layer is embossed with the Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder and sponged with Regal Rose ink.  The layer behind the main panel was done with the long scalloped rectangle Spellbinders die.  I just cut off the ends to fit my design.  I stamped the image with Basic Gray ink and then over-stamped the scripture in Stazon black ink.  Then I used a Spellbinders oval to emboss around the image.  After that, I sponged the edges with Regal Rose and spritzed it with Pearl Glimmer mist.  To finish the card I added a tiny bow made with my Bow Easy
and then I tied on a charm I received from my sweet friend America, with some silver cord.

Here are the supplies I used:

SU! Basic Gray, Regal Rose, and White cardstocks
SU! Regal Rose designer paper
SU! Regal Rose ink
Stazon ink
SU! ribbon and silver cord
Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangle die
Charm

Now, on with the Hop!  Don't forget to pick the flowers!!  LOL!
Here is a photo of the flowers you need to pick to add to your basket.

TULIPS
