Welcome to the ODBD June Release Blog Hop!

Welcome to the June Our Daily Bread Designs Release Blog Hop!

I am your first stop for our hop today!  So happy to have you join us!!!
If you just happened on my blog today,
you might want to return to the ODBD Blog and start the hop from there so you don't miss a thing!
Y'all are going to love the sets this month!
Briefly, here are the details of the hop:
  • Hop will run June 1 8:00am to June 2 8:00pm EDT.
  •  Winners will be announced June 3
  • There will be  FOUR PRIZES of $15, $20, $30 and $40. GC for STAMPS in the ODBD Store. Must be redeemed within the month of June**
  •
  • To qualify to win, all you have to do is hop to each of the designers, leave a comment and return to the ODBD Blog to tell us you completed the hop, and let us know of any difficulties you had along the way.
Here is my first project:

I am in love with these sweet little praying children!  I used the Precious Girl set for my first card.  I also wanted to make my card a little vintage and a little shabby chic!  I use several coordinating sheets of Prima designer paper.  I did lots of sponging and distressing and embossing.  If you will notice, I inked and masked the For you from one of the sentiments and stamped it along the right edge of the card base.
I cut out two diecuts using the ODBD/Spellbinders Antique Labels and Border dies and the ODBD/Spellbinders Recipe Card and Tags dies.  I layered these down on the card base and tucked a little distressed and sponged doily behind the label.  The Bless the Child sentiment is popped up on the tag.  I added seam binding and a Prima flower and leaf to the tag.  After I added the lace, I stamped the little girl, colored her with copic markers and then cut her out.  She is popped up with foam tape as well.  Then I added the row of rhinestones to complete the card!

And here is my second card:

I kept the vintage/shabby look going for this card, which features the new Home of the Free set!  The background was created with the Old Flag Background. I sponged ink on the flag using masks for the stripes.  Then I embossed it with the SU! folder and distressed the edges.  Next, I lightly coated it with white acrylic paint.

I cut out the Spellbinders hearts, sponged them and added to the card base.  I colored the eagle with copics and cut him out.  Then I stamped the stars and cut them out.  The banner is from Memory Box.  I masked each letter from the AMERICA sentiment to create the banner.  I added lace and beautiful gingham ribbon I recently found at my local thrift store.  I made the bow with Becca's Peg Bow Maker.

After putting the card together, I added stickles to the eagle and glossy accents to each star!

Here are all of the ODBD supplies I used for these projects:

Welcome to the ODBD May Release Day Blog Hop!

Good morning!
Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs May Release Blog Hop!
We are so excited to have you with us today!  You are gonna love this month's release!

If you arrived here from the sweet and talented Cathy, then you are in the right place!  If not you may want to start at the ODBD Blog, so you won't miss anything!

Here are the particulars:

The hop will run from May 1st 8:00am to May 2nd 8:00pm EDT.
Winners will be announced May 3rd.
There are THREE PRIZES of $20, $30 and $40 gift certificates for STAMPS in the ODBD Store.
The gift certificates must be redeemed within the month of May!
To qualify to win all you have to do is hop to each designer's blog, leave a comment, and return to the ODBD Blog to tell us you completed the hop, and if you had any difficulties along the way!

Now onto my card:

I used the fabulous Cathedral Window-Marble for the front of my card.  I colored the glass with copics and then clear embossed the entire window.  I used the ODBD/Spellbinders Cathedral Window and Border die to cut the window out.  The background was made with the Vintage Border Embossing plate that is now retired.  Notice the hardware along the side of the window...

So when you open the window, you see out onto the ocean scene!  This is The Waves on the Sea set!  I stamped the scripture on the inside of the window.  I trimmed a piece of card stock to the size of the window to secure all the front window pieces.  I made a little hinge and used Scor-Tape to adhere it.  In fact I used lots of Scor-Tape on this card to be sure the window would stay in place!  The ocean scene is embossed in black and sponged, using a circle for a mask to create the moon.

After putting everything together, I thought to myself that the front of the card was a little plain and didn't highlight the beautiful cathedral window.  So I added the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish and a few flowers and pearls.  Once I had that all glued down good, I realized...there probably aren't too many cathedrals with vines and flowers growing up the walls on the inside of the building!!!
Oh well, it is what it is!!!

Here is what's on the back of my card!
The new ODBD Logo Handmade by stamp with the lighthouse from the very first ODBD stamp set, Light of the World!
 Love it!

Welcome to the ODBD April Release Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs April Release Blog Hop!
We on the design team have been having a great time playing with our new toys, and I have a feeling you're going to want to play too!
If you got here from our sweet and talented Angie, you are in the right place!
If not, you might want to head on over to the ODBD Blog
and start from there so you don't miss any chances to win!
Here are the details of the Hop:
  • Hop will run April 1 8:00am to April 2 8:00pm EDT
  • Winners will be announced April 3
  • There will be 4 prizes: $10.00, $20.00, $30.00, and $40.00 Gift certificates toward STAMPS in the ODBD Store!  *** Must be redeemed within the month of April, so don't let them expire!
  • To qualify to win, simply hop to each designers blog, leave a comment, and return to the ODBD Blog to tell us you completed the hop and if there were any problems along the way!
Here is my first card:
My card today features the beautiful Romantic Floral Designs!  This new set coordinates with the Spellbinders Labels 26.  I stamped it in blue to match the Prima designer paper and then cut it out.  I also used one of the new Anniversary sets that came out last month called Scripture Collection 10.  I cut this out with a Spellbinders Scalloped Labels One.  Then it was just a matter of a little sponging along the edges and putting the card together.  I added a beautiful seam binding bow made with Becca's Peg Bow Maker and adorned it with a pretty Prima flower.  Zva pearls complete the card!

And here is one more!

The new Stained Glass Collage is so cool!  I used a technique I have never used before called Acrylic Smash.  There is a great tutorial on Splitcoast that I followed.  I stamped the collage onto a piece of acetate that I had saved from packaging.  I cut out the shape with a Spellbinders Labels 23.  I also cut out the same shape from white cardstock.

I flipped over the piece of acetate and painted a few small 'globs' of acrylic paint to the unstamped side.  Then I flipped it back over and carefully set it on top of the card stock piece.  I smooshed out the excess paint and made sure all the edges lined up and allowed the two pieces to dry together.  There is no need for glue!  Then I just popped up the acetate piece over the base card that has the new ODBD/Spellbinders Quatrefoil Pattern Die cut adhered to it!  This technique is so much easier than it looks and really doesn't take too much time!  It's very messy but really fun!

We are so pleased to have you hopping with us today!  Aren't the new releases fabulous?!!
I'll be back soon to share more cards made with some of these new sets!!!

Happy 5th Anniversary ODBD!

Hello everyone!

Each year, Kelley allows each of her design team members  to
submit a Scripture Verse, a sentiment or a quote,
and those submissions are made into the Anniversary sets.
Today's hop will show most of those submissions, and we truly hope you love them as much as we do!
If you got here from the very talented Dawn's blog, you are in the right place!
If not, why not start at the ODBD Blog and hop from there?
Here are the details of the hop:
  • Hop will run Mar 16 8:00am EDT to Mar 17 8:00pm EDT
  • Winners announced Mar 18
  • There will be THREE PRIZES of $25.00 Gift Certificates toward stamps! (must be claimed within 2 weeks)
  • To qualify for one of these prizes, simply hop to each designer, leave a comment and return to the ODBD blog to let us know you finished the hop, if you had any problems along the way, and most of all, leave your congratulations on this big milestone for Kelley and Rick!
Now... on to my card and the verse I submitted:
I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine.
Song of Solomon 6:3

What a powerful and beautiful scripture!  To me, this is God's way of letting us know how deep is His love for us, in ways that we can understand.  We can totally relate to the deep, deep love between spouses.  God's love for us is so much deeper that we cannot even fathom but this scripture can help us have a better understanding.  I thought this verse would be great for weddings or anniversaries too!

My card is shabby chic which is a style I love to use.  Most of the My Mind's Eye designer paper pieces and the card stock are distressed and inked on the edges.  I stamped the scripture from the Scripture Collection 10 set and cut it out with the tag in the ODBD/Spellbinders Recipe Card and Tags Die set.  The chipboard frame is also inked lightly.  I added Martha's stamped border, vintage lace, Prima flowers and leaves, and seam binding.  The seam binding bow was made with Becca's Peg Bow Maker and I added a little button with a crochet thread bow to the top of the seam binding bow.

We are so glad you could join us for our anniversary celebration hop!

I used the Chalkboard John's set for my card this morning.

These chalkboard sets are so much fun!  I used StampinUp! gray ink instead of black.  The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye and the gray card stock is StampinUp!.   I made the pretty seam binding bow with Becca's Peg Bow Maker and added a prima flower.  I also did a little distressing on some of the papers!

That's it!  So glad you are hopping with us today!

Welcome to the January 2013 ODBD Release Day Blog Hop!!!

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs January 2013 Release Day Blog Hop!
We are so excited to have you with us today and so grateful for your love and support of this wonderful company and all of the designers!  May this New Year be full of blessings
for each and every one of you!

Now on with the show!

If you arrived here from the amazing Becca's Blog then you are in the right place!  If for some reason any of the links are broken along the way, just head back over to the ODBD Blog for a complete list of designers participating today.

The hop will run from 8am Jan 1 through 8pm Jan 2 EST.
Winners will be announced Jan 3.
There are three prizes of $20.00 Gift Certificates and one Grand Prize of a $75.00 gift certificate toward stamps in the ODBD Store!

My first card today was so fun to make!  You know how I love getting my hands all dirty with inks and paint?  Well, I was a mess when I finished up this card! LOL!

The Prima paper made it easy.  Using two sheets of the same design, I was able to cut out the six rectangles to pop up and the little ovals too.  Each piece was messily painted along the edges.   The words are from the new Words of Faith set!  These words can be used for so many projects, and I am so excited about it!  Some of the rectangles have words lightly stamped in them.

I used pearls and two styles of lace for embellishments.  The bow was made with Becca's Peg Bow Maker using vintage crochet thread.  Along the lace edge I just twisted the same thread to create a rope.
I used Beacon 3-in-1 glue to glue it down so it would stay.  The tiny Spellbinders ovals are ODBD/Spellbinders Elegant Ovals, Spellbinders Labels 25, Beaded Ovals, and Lacy Ovals.

For my next two cards, I used the adorable Little Boys set!

What a great set this is!  So precious! The card above only uses the adorable sentiment cut out and framed with Spellbinders Marvelous Squares and Labels 26.  I added hemp twine and a little wooden sailboat.  I found a great stash of little wooden thingies at a local thrift store recently!

This time I heat embossed the little boy image with white embossing powder and then sponged all around with Antique Linen distress ink.  I cut it out and framed it with Spellbinders Ovals and then embossed the Spellbinders Beaded Oval for another frame.  The sentiment is embossed and sponged and cut out with a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner.  The edges are sponged with vintage Photo ink.  I added two threaded buttons on the bottom corners to complete the card!

Thanks so much for hopping with us today!
Your next stop is to the blog of the talented and sweet Sabrina!!!
Take it away Sabrina!!!
