April Sneak Peek!

Hi there!  Here is a little peek at two of the new sets being released on Friday by Our Daily Bread designs!  And no I didn't make this card for my hubby to give to me!  LOL!!  A friend has asked for three cards to give to his wife for her birthday!  These new sets are fantastic!  I stamped the image and then the sentiment with a little help from my Stamp-a-ma-jig and then cut it out with the Spellbinders Labels Eighteen.  My Grand Calibur was a huge help since I could cut the Label, the Parisian Motif and the Parisian Accent at once!  Such a time saver!  For the mat behind the image I used my x-acto knife to cut around the die.  The background is embossed with a StampinUp! embossing folder.  I sponged all of the pieces with Blush Blossom ink and then Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink.  The card stock is Neenah Cream and SU! Blush Blossom.  I also sponged the gingham ribbon to shabby it up a bit!  I added the Martha butterflies and Zva pearls and then finished up the card by coloring parts of the image with a copic marker to match and added a little Diamond Glaze!
Don't forget to hop with us on Friday!  You will love the new sets!!!
Thanks for coming by!  See you soon!!!

Another Be Inspired Wednesday!

Good morning sweet friends!
I made this for the Passionately Artistic Blog for the theme of Spring!
This tulip set from Our Daily Bread designs is so beautiful!  And so versatile!  This card is for a friend's wife for her birthday!  Hope she likes it!  I colored the tulips with copic markers and cut them out.  They are popped up on a Fancy Labels frame (also from ODBD) which coordinates with the Spellbinders Labels Seventeen.  The edges are the Spellbinders Parisian Accents cut to fit the frame and the negatives are adorning the top and bottom of the label.  The background is embossed with a StampinUp! embossing folder.  I sponged with Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink and added pearls and Martha butterflies along with a pretty bow and a button!  Last but not least, I spritzed the entire card with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist!  Thanks so much for visiting and hope you have a great day!

A Little Cutie

Good morning!
I have a quick little card to share this morning that I made for the Passionately Artistic Blog

Here are the supplies I used:

Spellbinders Ovals
Neenah White Card Stock
Lace and Ribbon and Bow Easy Tool
StampinUp! Inks (Pink Passion and Tempting Turquoise)
Foam Tape
Martha Stewart Border Punch

Here is how to create this card:

1. Cut all of the card stock and designer paper to the sizes you want.  This is a regular A-2 card.
2. Run card stock and designer papers through cuttlebug with the embossing folder.  Cut out the pennants and bird from the designer paper and sponge with matching inks.  Cut out ovals and add the sticker.
3. Adhere the pennants using the white card stock as your guide.  Glue down the lace and ribbon.  Make tiny bows with Bow Easy and glue them down.
4.  Add the sentiment oval with foam tape.  Then use the i-rock tool to add the bling.  Attach another sheet of designer paper to the front of the card and then add your decorated piece on top.
5.  Complete your card by decorating the inside.  I don't do this step often enough but it is a nice touch.

Thank you so much for visiting with me today!
Hope you enjoyed my little tutorial and hope you have a wonderful Monday!

More Embedded Butterflies!

Hello again!  I am really enjoying this technique!  And since I had the papers out from yesterday's card, I just made another!  Again, I used Martha butterflies but larger ones this time.  I glued them down and then ran it all through my Cuttlebug with a SU! folder.  The scripture is the one that I selected to be part of the new Scripture Collection sets that just came out from Our Daily Bread designs!  It is cut out with a Spellbinders Oval and then layered with the Spellbinders exclusive Our Daily Bread designs Elegant Oval die!  I added Zva pearls and SU! seam binding.  I distressed the edges of the Neenah layer and made the bow with my Bow Easy tool!  The border is punched with an EKSuccess punch.

This fits the following challenges:

And here is another I made using the new Eternity set!

Supplies I used:

Neenah Card Stock-Cream and White
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Tin Holtz Antique Linen ink
Lace and Ribbon
Prima Flower

I enjoyed having you visit today!
Watch for sneak peeks coming soon for new ODBD sets coming out April 1st!!!!

God's Blessings

Good morning!
I made this for the Passionately Artistic blog!  We are sharing Spring projects with you today!
I have been seeing a lot of cards lately using this embedded embossing technique
and I have been wanting to try it for myself.  Can you see the butterflies?

I punched out several tiny Martha butterflies and glued them down to the SU! designer paper, adhered that down to a piece of Baja Breeze card stock and then ran it through my Cuttlebug with a SU! embossing folder!  Voila!  Embedded embossing!  Can't get any easier than that for a little added texture!  I again adhered this down to a piece of Neenah card stock and used a distressing tool around the edges. This sentiment is from the Thinking of You set by Our Daily Bread designs.  It is cut out with a Spellbinders Oval and then layered to the Spellbinders Elegant Oval, which is exclusive to Our Daily Bread designs.
The seam binding is StampinUp! and the tiny pearls are by Zva.
Thank you for visiting with me today!  Have a great Wednesday!

Happy Birthday Kay!

Good morning!  Today is my friend Kay's birthday!  She is now the same age as me but we aren't talking about that!!  LOL!!!  Anyway, I made this for her.  I asked some of her family to email photos of her when she was little and they happily obliged.  I chose this sweet photo of her when she was about a year old. I printed it in sepia and got to work.  I altered a plaque that I have had for a number of years.  I prepped it with gesso and then painted it with black acrylic paint. I used my Spellbinders Grand Calibur to cut the Oval, Beaded Oval and Grand Oval and also the Oval for the sentiment and Fancy Tag. I did cut the Fancy Tag in half to better fit my design.  I ran the Grand Oval through my Cuttlebug with the Kassie's Brocade embossing folder.  It didn't cover the entire oval but I was able to camouflage the areas that didn't emboss.  The sentiment is from the Eternity set and the tulips are from the Tulip Corner set, both from Our Daily Bread designs.  I colored the tulips with copics, and cut them out to frame the photo.  I also did lots of sponging with Tim Holtz Antique Linen and Vintage Photo inks.  The designer paper and card stock is from StampinUp! and the tag is Neenah card stock.   I added lace and ribbon and then some Martha butterflies and Zva pearls!  I gave this to her during her party and she loved it!!!

Don't forget the
ends March 31st!!!

Ok, on with the show!!  Here is a close up of my card!

This is such a powerful verse, don't you think?  Even as a Christian, I sometimes have a hard time seeing how God is working in my life.  But the bible tells us to be assured and confident in our faith.  We have hope for our future because God is always with us, even when we think we don't see Him!  Praise the Lord!!!

Isn't this Fancy Labels set just gorgeous?!!!  And to have it coordinate with the Spellbinders Labels Seventeen die is such a beautiful thing!!  LOL!  To start my card, I stamped the label in SU! Bordering Blue ink, and the scripture in Memento Black ink.  Then I used my Grand Calibur to cut out the Labels Seventeen and a Petite Scalloped oval.  To create the mat for the Labels Seventeen, I just lightly traced around the outside of the die with a pencil and carefully cut it out.  The background paper is from Prima and is embossed with the SU! Lattice folder.  The card stock I used is Neenah Cream and SU! Bordering Blue.  The lacy border is punched with an EKSuccess border punch.  I added SpellbindersZva pearl swirls and tiny pearls to the Martha Stewart punched butterflies.  I made the bow with my Bow Easy tool and I added little roses to the bow.  I did a little sponging to the tips of the flower petals, the edges of the scalloped oval and the edges of the blue pieces of card stock.  I finished the card with a few more Zva pearls on the border strip and one large SU! pearl to the top of the oval.

Now, before I send you on your way,
I want to tell you that we do have one more exciting way you can win
during this Special Anniversary Celebration!

We will be taking submissions of favorite verses for a card until Mar. 31, 11:59pm est. There is a special post on the ODBD Blog and a special link to it in the right side bar so you can easily find it through the rest of this month. Simply read and follow the rules, and submit the verse you’d most like to see on a card or scrapbook layout. If your verse is selected you will receive the set free and you will be invited to be a guest designer for the release of these new stamps when they are ready, by sending a photo of your card to Kelley to post on the ODBD blog. Please see THIS post for all the details!
We can’t wait to see your submissions!

The Glory of Tulips

Happy Saturday!  I have a little bit of a sneak peek of a new stamp being released this coming week from Our Daily Bread designs!  We are celebrating the third anniversary of this wonderful stamp company and we invite you to join us on Thursday and Friday of this week (the 17th and 18th) for our Third Anniversary Blog Hop!  The stamp I am sneaking today is from a set called Fancy Labels that coordinates with the Spellbinders Labels Seventeen!  I stamped it in Memento Brown and then stamped the label from the Eternity set which was designed for the exclusive Spellbinders ODBD Labels One!  The card stock is Neenah Cream and I embossed the background with the SU! Lattice embossing folder and added a Spellbinders Lattice strip under the other labels with ribbon.  Then I stamped the new Tulip Corner stamp several times, colored them with copic markers and cut them out to create a bouquet.

You can see all the layers here:

Once I finished the tulips, I added a Bow Easy bow and a button.  Then the Zva pearl swirl, Martha butterflies and more pearls.  The last addition was a few squirts of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist!!

This is for the following challenges:

The Charm of the Morn to You!

Good Morning!  The Passionately Artistic team is sharing a little bit of St Patrick's Day inspiration today!  And believe it or not, I have no stamps to celebrate this day!  So I went searching and found some wonderful free vintage images at Magic Moonlight Studio!  She shares tons of great images!  I printed this precious image three times and then began to build my card around her.  The card stock is Neenah Cream and SU! Handsome Hunter.  I embossed the background with the Cuttlebug Houndstooth embossing folder and inked it light lightly with a Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink pad.  I also inked around the edges of the main image.  The I cut the other two prints to layer her for some dimension.  And then I added some beautiful Spring Flower Soft on her bouquet!  To top it off, I added some lace and organdy and little button!

Here's wishing you a bright and happy St Patrick's Day!

A Joan's Garden Challenge

Hi everyone!  I wanted to show you this card I made for a challenge on the Joan's Garden Blog!  The challenge is to use Just Rite stamps and they have a fantastic prize for one lucky stamper!  I used the flower bouquet from the Thinking of You Centers and Borders Set.  I colored it with copic markers and cut it out with a Spellbinders Oval.  I ran my Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink pad around the edges and then again with his Vintage Photo ink pad.  I cut the border out with a large Spellbinders Oval die and backed this with a Spellbinders Beaded Oval.  I added an EKSuccess punched border and then Want2Scrap pearls around the beaded oval. To finish the card I added SU! Seam Binding with a vintage button on the bow.  The card stock is Neenah Cream and SU! Blush Blossom.  The designer paper is K&Company.
Thanks so much for looking and have a great day!

Three Days Later

Hello again!!!  Here is a card I made for the Our Daily Bread Shining the Light challenge! The challenge is to use two of these colors: yellow, pink, blue or ivory.  This is one of the new stamp sets that ODBD just released called He Will Rise.  I stamped the crosses with Memento Brown ink and then cut out the image with our new exclusive Spellbinders ODBD Labels One.  Then I practiced again with my copic airbrush system.  I really need more practice!!  I used a pale yellow copic marker but I'm sorry I don't remember which one now and I've put everything away!  I've used Neenah card stock and SU! Barely Banana card stock.  One layer is embossed with SU! Lattice folder.  I used lots more Spellbinders dies with my Grand Calibur which made things so easy!  Then just added the ribbon and Bow Easy bow!  Thanks for popping in again!!  Hope you all have a great week!  See you again soon!

Daffodils Rejoice!

Good morning!!!  I do believe Spring has sprung around here!!!
I hope you are enjoying some Spring beauty in your neck of the woods!

I made this card for several challenges:

I have used three of the new sets that were released on the first by Our Daily Bread designs.  The Daffodil Corner, the Daffodil Tag Set, and the frame from the Eternity set which was designed for the exclusive Spellbinders ODBD Labels One die set!!!  I used my Grand Calibur to cut the label and the lattice border.  I used my Cuttlebug to cut the little cuttlebug corners and to emboss the back ground with a Sissix folder.  I used my Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink pad to add ink to the edges of the label, to little corner pieces and the lattice.  I colored the daffodils with copics and cut them out by hand.  They are tucked into the lattice and then popped up a little with foam tape.  I added the gingham ribbon and Bow Easy bow, then the Zva pearls and the buttons (two on the bow) to finish the card.  The card stock is Neenah White and Neenah Cream.  I also want to mention that for the last month I have been using the Scotch ATG for my projects and now I know what I have been missing!!!  I LOVE it!!!  Thank you so much for visiting with me today!!!  Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

Bella Bugs

Good morning!

If you are here for the Our Daily Bread designs Blog Hop that began yesterday and ends tonight at 8 PM,
scroll to the next post or just click HERE.

Today is another Be Inspired Wednesday at Passionately Artistic!  I made this card for someone who recently asked me to make a Thank You card, with flowers, ladybugs, and lots of pink.
I think I did it!!!  LOL!

The base card is Neenah White.  The designer paper is K&Company and is embossed with a StampinUp! folder.  I layered this with SU! Pink Pirouette card stock that is punched on one end with an EKSuccess lacy punch.  The SU! Bella Blossom is stamped three times with Regal Rose and Always Artichoke ink so that I could cut out the flower and leaves for a 3-D effect.  I used the retired SU! set, Bugs and Slugs for the little lady bug.  She is stamped randomly three times and then colored in with a red copic marker.  I added Diamond Glaze to each little ladybug.  I cut the sentiment out with a Spellbinders oval and layered with Spellbinders Scalloped oval and then again on a Spellbinders Fancy Tag!  I threaded pink satin ribbon through the fancy tag and then added some sparkle to the card!  Oh yeah, I used a Spellbinders Scallop Square to layer behind the flower panel!  Almost forgot that!!
Well, thanks again for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!!!

The Hop will run from 8am EST Mar. 1 until 8pm EST. Mar. 2. The winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Thurs. Mar 3.  This month, there will be Three prizes of a Flower Corner and Tag Set,
and one grand prize of a Bread Basket Bundle! WooHoo!

  • Leave comments for each designer on each blog
  • Return to the ODBD Blog and leave a comment, telling us you completed the hop and noting any blogs you were unable to comment on.
  • Answer the question on the ODBD blog
Here are the details of my card above:
I cannot tell you how excited I am that Spellbinders has partnered with ODBD!  This die is perfect for so many stamps but this first coordinating set called Eternity, which was designed specifically for this die, is so wonderful!  With the help of my Stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped the label, sentiment and scroll design in Stazon Brown ink, and then used my Spellbinders Grand Calibur machine to cut it out.  I went around the edge of the label with Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink.  The base card is Neenah Cream and the background designer paper is by K&Company.  The center portion is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder from the Preserves collection and these two pieces are also inked up with the Antique Linen ink pad.  I added the EKSuccess punched lace border and finished the card with SU! seam binding and SU! Hat Pin from the Pretties Kit, pretty blue Zva pearl swirls and a Prima flower!  The seam binding was also inked up with the Antique Linen ink just to mute the color down a little for a more vintage look!  I have one more project to share!

I used the little scroll from the Eternity set on the egg and then made the tag with the
Daffodil Tag Set and matching die!
The egg is a candy holder I have saved for over 25 years!!!  I painted it with acrylic paint and then sprayed it with Suede Glimmer Mist.  I stamped the scroll onto the egg with Stazon Brown ink and then used Beacon 3-in-1 glue to attach the lace, velvet ribbon and buttons.  For the tag, I colored the daffodils with copic markers in muted colors and sprayed it with Suede Glimmer Mist.  I made a huge Bow Easy bow with SU! seam binding, also sprayed with Suede Glimmer Mist and glued it down to the tag and then the egg.  I sort of curled the tag down to better show the design.  This was a fun project as I love altering things!  I love paint and glimmer and embellishments!!!

I do want to remind you that March 17th is Our Daily Bread design’s Third Anniversary! We have MANY fun activities lined up, and ALL our teams will be participating! There will be special challenges, some lasting all month, some for 2 weeks, and some just for one week! There will be a BLOG HOP on the 17th and 18th to reveal the new Anniversary Sets!
