This and That...

Hello friends.   This has been a sad couple of months for us.  I posted in November that my sweet Daddy passed away.  And now, my Mother in Law has gone to be with Jesus too.  I have been her caregiver for the last two years.  She had Alzheimer's.  We were able to keep her in her own home until the end.  Her last moments were peaceful and for that I am thankful.  And I am also thankful she has her memory restored
now!!!  Needless to say, our Thanksgiving and Christmas were pretty sad.  But with the Lord's help, we will make it through!  One day at a time!

Now I want to get back on track.  Kelley and my DT sisters have been so good to me!  And Kelley said to take as long as I need but I have to get back to making cards!  It is therapy for me as I am sure many of you can understand!  So here is my last card for 2013!!!

I used two new ODBD sets for this shabby card.

Gazebo Through the Window

Hey y'all!!!  I wanted to try my hand at the TLC on SplitCoast this week to create a window on the front part of the card with the image and sentiment on the inside.  And I just had to have this beautiful Gazebo from North Coast Creations peeking through!  My window was created with Spellbinders A-2 Matting Basics, Spellbinders Ovals and the ODBD/Spellbinders Quatrefoil Pattern Die.  I added pearls to the Quatrefoil Pattern and then cut the flourish with the ODBD/Spellbinders Fancy foliage Die.  Then I added a seam binding bow I made with Becca's Peg Bow Maker!

Here is the inside:

The inside is also a frame made with the Spellbinders A-2 Matting Basics and the Spellbinders Ovals.  I colored the Gazebo with copic markers.   The sentiment is from the ODBD Hyacinth set.

Here is a close up look!

Grace's Frame and Lavender Roses

Hi there!  I was playing again late last night and made this card with the Anchor set by Our Daily Bread designs.  I just love this sentiment as it is perfect for encouragement cards!  I used a base of Neenah Cream card stock and then topped it with White.  The background is embossed with the cuttlebug Grace's Frame embossing folder.  I then added the lace from my stash.  The sentiment is stamped and then cut out with a Spellbinders circle and layered with a Spellbinders Lotus pendant.  This is popped up over the lace and I added a pretty Bow Easy bow and three pretty little lavender roses.  Pearls complete the card!  I really like how this Grace's frame looks with the Spellbinders pendant!  This will make a great encouragement card but this design would be pretty for a wedding card I think!  Thanks for popping in today for a visit!  See you again soon!

In Our Hearts

Good Morning!!! It's a beautiful day and I have another card using one of the beautiful new collection of stamps from Our Daily Bread designs to share with you! Kelley has added three new sets this month. All of the sets are great for those times when we need to let someone know we care and are thinking about them. Today I am showing you a card made with a set called With Heartfelt Sympathy.

I used this week's Midnight Madness sketch and this week's Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge to make a card to let someone know you care. I started with a base card of Kraft paper. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the designer paper. I used an EK Success border punch along the edge of the sentiment panel and added Kraft ribbon. Notice I tied only a half bow! First time I did that, (it was an accident) but I liked the way it looked! Then I added pearls in the corners to finish the card.

CANDY, CANDY, CANDY!

Now, today is Blog Hop Day too! If you arrived here from Grace's blog you are going the right way! If not, go back to the ODBD blog and start from there! Now from here, go check out the gorgeous creations by these ladies:

Wishing You God's Blessings

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

I just finished this card for the Midnight Madness sketch this week and for Friday's LSC. This beautiful sentiment is from a set called Thinking of You from Our Daily Bread designs. I thought this sentiment would work great for a Fall/Thanksgiving card. The designer paper, Perfect Plum frame and Spellbinders leaves are all sponged with Ruby Red ink and sprayed with Gold Glimmer Mist. I added pearls and gold organdy ribbon to finish the card! Thanks for looking and hope you all have a blessed Sunday!

Central Park Thoughts

I love getting new stamps and paper! I just got the Central Park stamp set and pretty Urban Oasis designer paper from StampinUp! So pretty! I decided to try the Mojo Monday sketch for the first time too! The base card is Kraft. I layered the designer paper with black to make it show up nicely. The image is stamped with Soft Sky re-inker and the outline is Basic Gray. I stamped the sentiment with Memento black but really wanted it to say 'My' so I went rummaging through my stamps and found one from Hero Arts where I could just ink up that one word. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up. I cut out the rectangles with nesties. The black strip underneath is not ribbon! It's black cardstock. I used the photo corner punch to cut the triangle from the bottom! I punched a circle from the same dsp to place inside the hardware and threaded the Kraft satin ribbon through the holes to tie the bow. I added black butterflies to finish the card! Thanks for looking! I hope you have had a wonderful day!

Book Cover Inspired Forest Friends

I really love the Saturday Inspiration challenges over at SCS! Thanks Stef! Well, I used this cover for my inspiration-http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=148162&d=1243651513 I inked up an embossing folder before embossing the outside edges of the frame. I sponged bashful blue onto white and then stamped the little friends. Then, on the main image layer, I stamped the tree, masked and sponged the grass and sky with clouds. I added the sentiment, butterflies, rhinestones, and threaded button to finish the card! Thanks so much for coming to visit! Have a great night!

Midnight Madness Meets Limited Supplies!

Hi everyone! I made this card for the LSC222 on SCS and for the Midnight Madness Sketch challenge! We were to use only designer paper for all layers except for the card base and to try to keep the embellishments simple! Not so sure I limited myself enough but it's late and I am not trying it again! The butterflies and swirls are designer paper. The swirls are a Cuttlebug die cut that I cut up and rearranged. I did the regular scallops with a corner rounder. I used a vanilla Hodge Podge Hardware ribbon slide and some pearls on the butterflies. I do like this pink! It's so pretty!

Paper-Regal Rose, SU! Walk in the Park, SU! hostess pack
Ink-Memento black, Regal Rose
Accessories-MS butterfly punch, MS lacy border punch, vanilla HPH, pearls, ribbon, lace, cuttlebug and die, corner rounder, Xyron sticker maker

Well, I really need to go to bed so, thanks for taking a look and have a great weekend everyone!
