Burgundy Birthday Blessings

Hey ya'll! I'm back with another card using the Happy Birthday set from Our Daily Bread designs! When I saw the inspiration challenge this morning I had to make this before going to work for a couple of hours today! I was inspired by some gorgeous wall covering in a burgundy and rose color combo. I stamped the Rose Red layer with one of the stamps in the StampinUp! set called Friends 24-7 in Burgundy ink, then ran it through my little bug and sponged the edges. I colored the image with copics C1,C3,C5,E74,G21,G99,R37,R85 and Y21. I used various Spellbinders dies to cut the image out. Then I used my new Spellbinders Lattice border threaded it with ribbon and folded it over the edges. I added some bling and butterflies to finish the card! Thanks for looking! I should be back soon with a sneak peek at the upcoming September releases from Our Daily Bread designs! You're gonna love them!!!! See ya!

Rudolph With Your Big Nose

Hi!!! I made this tonight even though I am exhausted! I needed the therapy! This is for the color challenge today, Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Kraft and a neutral. I embossed the Kraft layer with a Cuttlebug folder. The deer image is from SU! Winter Post set and is stamped in Red and cut out with a nestie and layered in nesties. The red strip is punched with Martha's border punch and the brown strip is scored in a lattice pattern with my scor-pal. I added organdy ribbon and some Martha thread I found on sale at Michael's. Then I went a little too far and added the tiny bling to Rudy's nose! I think it's a little too big but it's done now! No turning back with bling! haha! Going to bed now! Thanks for looking and have a great day tomorrow!

Christmas Card Challenge and Featured Stamper Cards

Hey ya'll! Working on getting some Christmas cards done early! I made these last week for the Christmas Card Challenge to do 10 per month! Well, I am behind. I made 10 of each of these which gets me through May!

So today is Featured Stamper day and Joanne is the FS! She is so sweet! She gives such wonderful comments and does beautiful work! I chose her card here to case and made 10 so now I have cards done through June!!! Yay!!!

Joanne, enjoy your day as Featured Stamper and hope all of you have a great week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Thank You Jesus!

You know, these new SU! in-colors are so regal aren't they? I like them and I tried not to! haha!
Well, here is another card I made with the new Jesus set from Our Daily Bread designs. I stamped Jesus with Always Artichoke stamped off once and then I used the Rich Razzleberry marker to color the verse before stamping it over the image. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the artichoke layer and a Spellbinders die to do the pretty strip of Rich Razzleberry paper. I cut the leaves with a SU! die in Soft Suede. I added Always Artichoke ribbon, the cross charm and gold cord, and the pearls to finish the card! The sketch I used is one of this week's MojoMonday celebration sketches! Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful and blessed Sunday!

Be Glad In It!

Good morning!!! Let us rejoice and be glad! I made this card for the Midnight Madness sketch from this week. I colored this beautiful Our Daily Bread designs Happy Birthday image with copics. The numbers I used are C1,C3,C7,G21,R32,R37,R85,RV11,RV14,W7,YG95. Then I masked and stamped the sentiment several times lining it up around the image with a Stamp-a-ma-jig. (sshhh! you can see a couple of tiny spots at the top where I messed up! Don't tell!) I found this ribbon at Hobby Lobby on clearance! Isn't it pretty?! I used my cropadile to set the eyelets to feed the ribbon through. I added a double Martha Stewart butterfly too. The top layer is embossed with an embossing folder and I sprayed Pearl Glimmer Mist on it. I added a lots of tiny pearls to finish the card! What do you think?

Hi!!! Hope everyone is having a great Friday! I just finished this for the LSC using the new SU! Autumn Days set! A great 'man' set! I used markers to color the images. I used a Spellbinders oval to emboss. Cut out the other images and tied linen thread around them. The sentiment from Very Versatile is cut out with the Word Window punch and attached with a brad. I distressed edges and sponged too. That's it!

Warm and Fuzzy Birthday Blessings

Hey everybody! I just finished this card for this week's color challenge, today's Ways to Use It challenge and one of this week's Mojo Monday sketches! This image is from one of this month's Our Daily Bread designs releases called Happy Birthday and it is so fun to color with copics! Such a versatile set! It's actually a watering can but I masked off the handle and spout so it would look more like a planter. I stamped the image twice so that I could cut out some of the flowers and paper tole them. I added Ivory Flower Soft for the WT to use something fuzzy on our project. The copics I used are C1,BG18,E00,E31,E33,E43,E51,E74,G21,G99. The image is layered with Taken with Teal and Vanilla and popped up over layers of Teal, Close to Cocoa, Close to Cocoa dsp, and Vanilla. The bottom cocoa strip is edged with an EK Success punch. The lacy border is cut with the Spellbinders Grand Classic Lace Border die. I sponged cocoa ink onto it before removing it from the die. I added some pretty lace sent to me by my friend Angel (Thanks Angel!) and some Martha Stewart butterflies and Hero Arts pearls. Also did some sponging here and there.

Eat Dessert First!

Hi ya'll! Today is the first Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge! Every first, third and fifth Sunday they will post a scripture and a challenge related to that scripture. This first week's scripture is from the book of John.

Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35 (NIV)

Therefore, the challenge was to make a card with a food theme. I have come to realize now, that I own very few food themed stamps! I did find this Fluffles stamp though! It's very cute! I'm more of a bread and potatoes girl but dessert's good too! Yesterday, I received my SU! order of in-color stuff. This card features, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede and Soft Suede designer paper. I used in-color markers to colors the image; Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Dusty Durango, Rich Razzleberry and is outlined with Going Gray. On the designer paper, I used my Scor-Pal to score a nice pattern and added some rhinestone flowers where some of the flowers are in the design. I used the Bermuda Bay marker to go over some of the random dots too! The cake has a 'frosting' from a White Gel Pen and the balloon has Glossy Accents for that fun balloon shine!

Thanks ladies for coming up with this! I think this is going to be a fun, inspiring time each week!

Thanks for visiting and come again soon!

I Am

Well, it's early Sunday morning and I just finished up my card for the Featured Stamper Challenge this week! This week the honor goes to Stamp Muse!!!! I chose to case this card. And I just had to use my new Soft Suede paper and ribbon that I got today!!!! This wonderful image of Jesus, one of this month's releases from Our Daily Bread designs was the perfect choice for this layout! I colored the image with my Soft Suede marker and stamped before cutting the oval with a Spellbinders die. I also colored just a portion of the scripture with the marker before stamping. I added the scripture with a Spellbinders label die and SU! brads. I added a bow to my card, which was created with ribbon pieces. The background is embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. And I think that's about it! Now go check out these cards by other ODBD designers! You won't be sorry!

Bleached Saffron Tree

Hello!!! Well, this one was fun because I tried something I've only tried one other time and was unsuccessful. I stamped with bleach! I stamped the Stamp Camp tree with bleach and then stamped one of the SU! Itty Bitty Background stamps with more bleach. I stamped the tree again with Basic Gray ink and then I sponged all around with vanilla and Basic Gray. After that, I sprayed Pearl Glimmer Mist. When it was dry I stamped a little bit more with the background stamp using the gray ink. The color challenge this week was to use the color after stamping with bleach as your second color. The tree is somewhere between vanilla and saffron so I went with So Saffron! The BasicGrey designer paper in the background was a perfect match, I sponged the edges too! The ribbon and hardware is all SU!. I used a Martha border punch at the bottom. For my layout, I used this week's Midnight Madness sketch. If you haven't checked out Midnight Madness, what are you waiting for! I love these sketches every Tuesday!

Copic Colored Birthday

Hi ya'll! Hope you had a great day today! I had the day off and got a few things done! Yay! I made this card this afternoon with one of this month's releases from Our Daily Bread designs called Happy Birthday. I colored the image with every copic in the world! hehehe!

Actually, here are the numbers: B34,E74,G21,G99,RV11,RV14,RV19,RV29,V15,W1,Y17,Y21,YG67,YR65,YR68!

Then I cut it out with Spellbinders Label Three and layered it with another SB label die cut. The background is the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder. I added a Martha fence border at the bottom, threaded with SU! Always Artichoke ribbon. I used my Stamp-a-ma-Jig to line up the sentiment. Then I made a little bouquet with SU! leaves die, Martha punches, and flower soft! Finished the card with Martha's little butterflies and some pretty pink rhinestones. Well, I thought I was done but really wanted something else, so I carefully peeled the white layer up on the corners and added cuttlebug corners (cut in half diagonally and trimmed) to each corner! Ok! Now I'm done! Check out these three ladies' blogs! Each one of these ladies has created a beautiful, inspiring card using the other ODBD August release called Jesus!

Thanks for looking and hope you have a great night!

Christmas JOY and a Sweet Award Too!

Good Morning! Hope you are having a great Sunday! Well, today is Featured Stamper day at SCS, and today's FS is the very talented Joanne(sleepyinseattle)! I chose to case this gorgeous Christmas card. I started with a card base of Regal Rose, layered with Handsome Hunter, and then a piece of DCWV designer paper, which is embossed, scored and sponged. I stamped the letters and then used Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg stamps for the Christmas flowers . I punched out each letter with a circle punch and then cut nestie circles and scallop circles for each letter. I added pretty green ribbon, silver cord, and rhinestone brads to finish the card! Thanks for a beautiful inspiration Joanne! Have a fun day!

I Am With You Always

Here is another card using the new set from Our Daily Bread designs called Jesus. I wanted to make a clean and simple card this time. I really struggle with this type of card. But I have been inspired by so many cards I have seen lately. For this one I used Fabriano watercolor paper. I stamped the sentiment first lining it up with my Stamp-a-ma-jig, then I stamped Jesus' image. I cut the border with Spellbinders Grand Lace border, I added BasicGrey jewels and then ribbon to finish the card. Oh, and I distressed the edges too! That's about as clean and simple as I can get! By the way, I had to hide something here. The first time I stamped, I didn't like the placement so I turned it over. Well, I had the whole card put together when I realized you can see right through this paper! It's so thick I was surprised! So, what I did to hide this, was to add Close to Cocoa layered with more watercolor paper on the inside of the card, under the image and on the side where you would would write a message! I tell you this is one thick card! Oh well, live and learn, right?

Thanks for stopping by, and come again soon!

This is the Day that the Lord has Made!

I have to say I would never have thought to combine these colors had it not been for the color challenge today! It's a fun, retro color combination, I think! I used this week's Midnight Madness sketch, changing it up a bit. This beautiful image and scripture is from Our Daily Bread designs new set called Happy Birthday! Such a fun image to color!! I don't know if you can tell but I used my scor-pal between each scalloped square. I colored the image with copics (C1,E00,E37,E43,E74, G21,R22) to match the SU! colors. I also colored the Hero Arts flowers with the copic R22. I stamped just a partial scripture sentiment, die cut it with the Spellbinders label, and sponged while it was still inside the die. I added pretty Martha Stewart butterflies and silver pearls and a silver brad to complete the card! I'm glad you stopped by! Come back again soon!

Until the End of Time

Today, I want to show you a little gift set I made using the new Our Daily Bread designs set called Jesus. I have to say that ever since I became a Christian, this is one verse, in particular, that has always given me such comfort. No matter what, God is with me always, until the very end of time! WOW!!! That is amazing! Okay, back to the gift set! For the card, I used last week's SCS sketch which was inspired by our very own Silke! And I also used five of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges! I used Holly's color challenge of More Mustard, Real Red, and Bashful Blue. I made my own designer paper for Betty's challenge by stamping the Amazing Grace Hymn (music challenge) and the Grow in Grace dogwood flowers. I sponged the three ink colors randomly over the images. Then for Deborah's texture challenge, I sprayed this with Glimmer Mist! Instant designer paper! I added two Spellbinders die cuts (Becca's challenge), threaded with ribbon, to fit with the sketch. I stamped the Jesus image once on scratch paper before stamping onto a piece of Whisper White. Then I stamped the verse over Jesus' image in red. I colored the Hero Arts flowers with copic markers to match and sprayed the red flower with more Glimmer Mist. I added pretty red rhinestones here and there to complete the card!

Now for the candle! This technique is so fun and easy!!! I cut a piece of white tissue paper to fit the size of the candle. You want to cut it to go all the way around. Then you stamp the images onto the tissue paper. Using a piece of wax paper to hold the tissue paper down around the candle, carefully use your heat gun to heat the wax paper until you see that it is getting glossy. Carefully do this all the way around until you get the whole thing melted into the candle. Then just embellish as desired! I used red organdy ribbon, red rhinestones, and a piece along the bottom punched with the Martha Stewart Lattice border punch. Here is a link to a tutorial at SCS showing you better how to do the candles! And here are pictures of the other sides of my candle.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit today and thanks for stopping by!

Midnight Madness and Inspirational Aprons!

Well, I'm behind in getting this posted! This is for last week's Midnight Madness sketch! I also was inspired by one of the pretty aprons in Saturday's Inspiration challenge. I stamped the image in red in a pattern. Then I embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The bottom border is done with a Spellbinders Piercabilities die. I did the curve at the top of the tag with a Spellbinders Circle die. I used the rock and roll technique with Real Red and Chocolate Chip ink for the bird and the sentiment. The bird was stamped again and cut out to layer over the image. Added a pretty button and flower and lots of pretty red rhinestones to complete the card! Thanks for looking! And come back soon!

Our Daily Bread designs August Releases are Here!

It's August 1st and time for two more amazing and beautiful stamp sets from Our Daily Bread designs! Kelley, the owner of ODBD, has come out with a birthday set and that is what I have used here.

This is a picture of the entire set!

For this card, I incorporated 7 of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges at SCS! DTGD09sgtstamper-to use blue and lots of embellishments
DTGD09cindy_haffner-sketch
DTGD09KrystieLee-to use something clear
DTGD09genie1314-to use a tag
DTGD09Becca_Stamps-to use die cuts or punches
DTGD09DeborahLynneS-texture
DTGD09craftycaro-to make a non-traditional size card

I colored the image with copics(C1,C3,B91,B93,B95,B97,YG95). Had to slip in a little green for the leaves! The butterfly was stamped again and cut out to attach over the main image. I used Glossy Accents to cover the flowers and the butterfly for a little clear shine and texture. I used only a portion of one of the sentiments on the little cuttlebug tag. The Not Quite Navy layer is cuttlebugged with the Textile embossing folder and distressed on the edges for more texture. I used Spellbinders dies for the circles and squares. The tag and buttons are threaded with embroidery floss.

Here is a picture of the other set being released today.
It is called, simply, Jesus.

This one is just so beautiful
and I will have another card to show you using this new set
very soon!

And, (drum roll please) we are so happy to have Loretta Lock as our Guest Designer for August and September! Loretta is very talented so I know you will enjoy her ODBD creations!
