For the Love of Backgrounds!

We are having a special anniversary week here at ODBD and have had a great week so far!  Today, several of the bread sticks have cards to share with you that feature the wonderful backgrounds that ODBD has to offer!  Today it is all about BACKGROUNDS!!!  If you arrived here from Grace's Blog   then you are in the right place! If not please begin the hop at the Our Daily Bread designs Blog.  Make sure you leave a comment on each designers' blog because one of the blogs is a hot spot and a name will be drawn from those comments to win a $15.00 ODBD store gift certificate!  You have until March 28 to leave your comment and the winner will be announced on March 29th!  Hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!  Now here is my card!

I chose three backgrounds to use for this card!!!  Yes, three!!!

I stamped the Wood Background first in brown ink and then stamped the Old Flag Background in black ink.  I colored the flag in with copics and then used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink dragging it over the image to give it that distressed/aged look.  On the background behind the flag layer, I stamped the Wood Background in brown and then the He Shall Be Called Background in black.  I did the same inking technique on this layer but used less ink.  Then I tore some lace into pieces, and glued and smooshed it into place in the corner.  I stamped the sentiment from the God Bless America set, and cut it out with the Spellbinders Ribbon Banners die.  I glued down the USA charm and hemp twine to complete the card!  Here is a closer view:

Now head on over to Deb's blog to see what she has created for you!  Don't forget all the festivities this week for ODBD's 4th anniversary.  The much anticipated Anniversary Release Day Blog hop is this weekend and we hope you will join us as we celebrate!  Thanks again for stopping by!
My Siggy

  31. Wow, Sandee! This is amazing! I think it would look sensational as a wall mural...a huge one! Or at least framed. I have a new appreciation for the flag, now that my son has joined the Air Force. I have a new pride in it, and I do believe it should have the "under God" in it, because some people would put it above Him if possible. This is fantastic card. I love what you did with the lace it looks wonderful! And, the charm is great on there. I just think this would be a great CD cover, or something that the larger population should see. It is wonderful.
