Hi there! Please forgive me for being missing in action lately. I have had tons of things going on lately! My sweet father in law passed away Monday, after a very long 6 weeks in the hospital. He is now in the arms of Jesus and the pain is all gone! In the last 6 weeks or so, we have been going back and forth from our house to my in laws house, taking turns with our daughter staying with my mother in law. I have now retired from my job and my hubby and I will be moving in with her! She is a blessing to me and I look forward to spending time with her and caring for her. She has Alzheimer's and battles diabetes as well. I know this will be a tough journey in so many ways but God will see us through! I had made a few cards a few weeks ago in preparation for not having time to create the next few weeks.
(I hope to sneak in a little creating time though! LOL!)
This card features a gorgeous new ODBD set called Christmas Tree Collage. After stamping with brown Memento ink, I colored in areas with copic markers. I sponged with Antique Linen ink, added Stickles for a little sparkle and then sprayed it with Suede Glimmer Mist. I added lace and then seam binding that I dyed with Suede Glimmer Mist. The bow was made with my Bow Easy and I added a pretty matching blue button and silver cording. The card stocks are White, Creamy Caramel and one of the SU! blues, not sure which one. The Creamy Caramel layer is distressed along the edges too!
Thanks so much for visiting with me! I will be back as soon as I can!
Oh Sandee, you have been through a lot with many challenges still ahead. My heart goes out to you and the family. Adding you all to our prayer chain at church and hoping the transition will be an easy one.
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous and so beautifully created. I love the stamps and the gorgeous colors. Keeping you in prayers. "Hugs" Carol
Sandee - Such a beautiful card! My prayers are with you and your family as you begin this new journey. My mother passed away two years ago from Alzheimers and I know the struggle that comes with this dreaded disease. Although we needed to put her in a fabulous home who concentrated on Alzheimers patients, she received such excellent care from those extremely outstanding workers, and more importantly I spent the entire last three days totally with her and she died peacefully cradled in my arms. Now she is cradled by the arms of Jesus. I'm now looking after my father, who is still able to be on his own but we visit every day. I know you will have a sometimes long, stressful journey ahead and I admire you for being there for your mother in law. My prayers will be with you as you move. Don't worry about us....we will be here when you get settled and are ready to post again! We love your work and will be patient and be thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteWow Sandy, sounds like your plate is full and getting fuller! I'm so sorry to hear about your father in law, and I hope things go well for you with the move ahead! Nice card, btw! Thinking of you!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful and so vintage. I love it! You do a great job. May things go well as you will be a caregiver. may God bless.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about your father-in-law Sandee but so glad that he is at peace and home with Jesus! I dread the day my in-laws pass as much as I dread the day my own parents pass. It is such a blessing that you and your hubby are moving in to take care of your mother-in-law - what a precious gift for all of you. Sending prayers and best wishes that all will go well. And this card is gorgeous! I just love the newest release from ODBD!
