Good morning!!!
I spent a lovely two days helping at the Our Daily Bread designs booth at the Heirloom Pro Rubber Stamp Show here in Georgia this weekend! It was so nice to have some time away! As some of you may remember, I am the caregiver for my sweet Mother in Law, who is in the latter stages of Alzheimer's and has lost all of the strength in her legs and almost never knows who we are. It is such a terrible terrible disease and my heart breaks for her! You can see the confusion and fear in her eyes. I very rarely get to leave the house except to go to Walmart so having two days away was very therapeutic for me! Anyway, I totally enjoyed seeing some of my ODBD family as well as several people who let me know that they follow my blog! I was tickled to death to talk to those ladies!!! And it was so fun doing the Flower Soft demo too! Saturday was crazy busy but yesterday was much calmer so we had more time to visit! Even my parents and my brother were able to stop by and see what my stamping world is all about!
Here are a few photos from Saturday:

See how busy we were?

I had so much fun! ODBD is coming back to Georgia in July for the Scrapbook Expo at the Gwinnett Civic Center! Hoping and praying I will be able to attend and get to see some of you wonderful people again!!!
Anyway, back to my card!
I am entering this into three challenges:
The chalkboard look is so hot right now! ODBD just released several chalkboard images and this is from their new set called Chalkboard-John's!
I stamped the image in black and then used white ink to smudge around the edges and some of the open areas. Then I used white embossing powder. I used four different patterns from My Mind's Eye. The wooden button is by Prima. I just sort of winged it when cutting the banners. I added black butterflies and some pearls too!
Well, thanks so much for visiting me today! Enjoy your week!
I LOVE the chalkboard look, and this card is just fabulous. Your cards are always such an inspiration to me, and I'm so blessed that God sent you into my life. You're a blessing and an inspiration!

Sandee,
ReplyDeleteYour sweet Mother-in-law is very blessed to have you caring for her. My 2 daughters in law (sisters) said they will put me in Shady Pines. It is quite a joke around here. My mother and I kept Daddy at home as Alzeimers took him away from us .
I am glad you had your 2 days away. I must get watching some Youtube on how to do the chalkboard effect. Yours is spectacular.
Thank you for joining us at Word Art Wednesday; we love seeing your wonderful art work and we really appreciate you taking time to join our challenge.
