Vintage Tart Tin Pin Keep

Good morning!  This week at the Passionately Artistic Blog we are sharing inspiration for gift ideas!  Almost a year ago, I picked up the Jul/Aug/Sept issue of the Somerset Life magazine.  This magazine is always a beautiful way to spend an afternoon!  Anyway, there was this wonderful article by Becky Shander showing several of these little pin keeps.  I have been wanting to try one for myself and just now decided to try it!  My Mom found some of the little vintage tart tins for me.  They are oval in shape and just so cute!

I painted the tin with white paint and when it dried I sponged and stippled distress ink on it.  I cut a piece of burlap and sort of winged it with the sewing and then stuffing it with quilt batting.  I sewed the button on with ribbon and tied it tightly on the underside.  Then I glued the whole thing down with Beacon 3-in-1 glue.

Once it dried, I added the butterflies using straight pins and a tag with a small safety pin.  I aged the SU! seam binding with Suede Glimmer Mist and tied that to the safety pin too.  I used a stamp from the Our Daily Bread designs set called Mother's Day (using the masking technique) and then cut it out with a Spellbinders Label.  Well, for my first try at one of these little tins, I am pleased.  I learned some things along the way too!  And I think my Mom will like it, don't you?

Purple Elegance

Hi there!!!  Hope all is well!  I have another card to show you that I made last night!  I had to wait until tonight to show you so the Diamond Glaze could dry.  Even thought the glaze caused the ink to smear a little, I kind of like how it looks!  LOL!!!  The image is from the Bird and Butterfly Labels from ODBD which was designed for the Spellbinders Labels Eighteen die set.  I used the Mom set too.  The back ground is a sheet from a Webster's Pages pack and is embossed with a Sizzix folder.  I matched the designer paper with SU! Elegant Eggplant card stock and ink.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I added butterflies, a button and tons of bling.  Finally, I added the Diamond Glaze to the main image and the butterflies.  Oh yeah, the strip at the bottom is a die cut using one of the Spellbinders Parisian Accents dies.  That's it!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great night!

Mother's Day Blessings

Hi there!  I hope you all have had a blessed Easter!  I am enjoying some down time this evening and have a set of four cards to share with you!  I used Flower Soft Toppers and Flower Soft on each card!

Each card is made with the same colors and general layout.
I just changed up the embellishments a little to make each card a little different.

I used the new Our Daily Bread designs stamp set called Mother's Day on three of the cards.

And then I used last year's set called Mom for this last card.  Since the same font was used on both stamp sets, it was easy to combine them for this set of cards!

Here is a list of the supplies I used:

ODBD Mother's Day and Mom
Neenah White Card Stock
Mellow Moss Card Stock
SU! Designer Paper
SU! Lattice Embossing Folder
Stazon Black ink
Martha Stewart Butterflies
EKSuccess Border Punch
Various Ribbons and Lace and a Bow Easy

Poppy Blessings

Hi there!!!  Hope everyone has had a great weekend!  I made this card for two challenges:

and

To make the background, I stamped one of the images from the ODBD Bird Border and Corners set in white on white Neenah card stock and then clear embossed.  Then I sponged the whole thing with Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink.  I stamped the poppy image from the Mother's Day set with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink, cut it out with the Poppy die and clear embossed the whole thing.  I used my Grand Calibur to cut out all of the Spellbinders dies.  The little tabs at the top are negatives from one of the Spellbinders Die cuts.
Here are the supplies I used:

ODBD Poppy Die
Neenah Cream, Neenah White, Creamy Caramel and Blush Blossom card stocks
White ink and Tim Holtz inks
Clear embossing powder
Lace, ribbon and Bow Easy
Spellbinders Labels Eighteen and Labels Trio
Gold Button and Gold Brads

Violets and Lilacs and Plums, Oh My!

Hi there!  Some of the Our Daily Bread designs DT are so excited to have been invited to sponsor the latest challenge on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Ramblings Blog!  The ribbon on my card is just one example of the beautiful ribbon they have!  Well, as you may have guessed, the challenge is to use violet, lilac or plum on your project along with ribbon, of course!  I sponged SU! Pale Plum ink on the SU! designer paper (which is embossed with a SU! embossing folder) and the Labels Seventeen.  The tulips are colored with copics and cut out for the bouquet.  And the edges of the Fancy Label are adorned with die cuts using a Parisian Accents Spellbinders die!

Please join us for this fun challenge!
Thanks so much for visiting with me today and hope you have a great weekend!

In His Time

Hope you are having a great week!  Halfway to the weekend!!!  WooHoo!  I have a card to share that I made for the Shining the Light challenge on the ODBD blog to create a card with a bird on it somewhere!  I've used one of the new sets this month called Bird Borders and Corners along with one of the scriptures from the Faith set.  I thought this one little bird corner looked like it belonged at the bottom of a wreath on a front door!  I did a little experimenting with the Spellbinders Parisian Motifs and Accents dies and this is what I came up with the showcase the scripture.  The corners are some of the little negative pieces from the die cuts.  I added some ribbon to the little bird corner and a few little Martha butterflies and pearls.  And do you believe I didn't emboss the back ground!  LOL!!!  The card stock is Neenah Cream and SU! Bordering Blue.  The ink is SU! Bordering Blue and Stazon Black.
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great evening!

Here are my card details:

I decided to make a masculine card for our hop today!  You all know this is a challenge for me right?!!!  But I love this moose image from the Father's Day set so just had to try it out!  First, I embossed a piece of SU! designer paper with the Cuttlebug Herringbone folder and sponged it with Always Artichoke ink.  I stamped the moose twice so I could cut one out for layering.  Then I decided he needed to be standing in a field of flowers so added the flower soft!  Moose like flowers I am sure!  LOL!  To balance out the flowers on this manly card I added buttons.  I used my Grand Calibur to cut out the Spellbinders square and the new cool Ribbon Tag.  So what do you think?   So glad you joined us today and hope you love the new sets as much as we do!

Now head on over to the blog of the very talented Connie!!!  Enjoy the hop!!!
