The Way, The Truth, and The Life

Good morning everyone!  Hope you are having a great week!  Today is Be Inspired Wednesday
over at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog and this week's focus is Pop Up Cards!
Maggie is really challenging us, I tell you!  I have never done one of these Pop Up cards before!
But I learned a lot along the way and really enjoyed making this!  Since Easter is this Sunday,
I had the idea of doing the three crosses for the inside of my card.
Although I'm sure I could have done this a little better, for my first try I thought it turned out pretty good!
I used a tutorial I found on SCS and it helped a lot!  This also fits the TLC challenge from Monday and the ODBd Easter challenge
Here is the inside!  What do you think?

Here are the supplies I used to make this:

SU! Chocolate Chip and Mellow Moss cardstock
Neenah Cream cardstock
K&Co designer paper
Memento Black ink
SU! Mellow Moss, Bashful Blue, Soft Sky and So Saffron ink
Spellbinders Ovals, Crosses and Long Rectangle
Brown satin ribbon and Bow Easy

Thanks all for visiting with me today!

Our Daily Bread designs April Sneak Peek

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great Palm Sunday!
Here is a sneak peek at one of the new sets being released on the first from
It's called Happy Mother's Day and is such a beautiful set!  I colored the wreath with copic markers,
giving it a shabby chic look.  Some of the flowers are paper toled to meet the
Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge this week.  I paper toled the little bee too,
layering the body to vellum. I also did lots of sponging and added a few highlights with a white gel pen.
Don't forget to stop back in on the first to see all the new sets being released!

Here are the supplies I used:

Neenah Cream cardstock
SU! Chocolate chip cardstock
Vellum
K&Co designer paper
Copic markers
SU! ribbon
Memento Black ink
Foam tape

Thanks again for coming to visit today!

It Will Be Yours

Hi everyone!  Hope you have had a great Saturday!  Just wanted to share a card I made for
the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Blog this week.  The challenge was to make a CAS card!
Well, if you know me, I absolutely cannot do real CAS!  It just does not work for me.
So this is as close to CAS as I can ever seem to get!  Hope I can still qualify!
I used one of the new scripture sets from Our Daily Bread designs
called Scripture Collection 3.  I stamped it with Versamark and Chocolate Chip ink and
then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder so the verse would stand out.
And then I just added ribbon and pearls!

Here are the supplies I used for this card:

Neenah Cream cardstock
K&Co designer paper
Spellbinders Oval and Scalloped Oval
Versamark, Clear embossing powder and Heat tool
SU! Chocolate Chip ink
SU! corner punch and SU! ribbon
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great Sunday!

Birthday Daffodil

Hi everyone!  Hope you all have had a wonderful day!  I've been playing a little bit today!
I made this for three different challenges!  I do wish I could get my photos to look right because this looks a little bit blue in the background and it's not blue at all!!!  Oh well, maybe one day I'll be smart!
In the meantime, I hope you'll take my word that this is really quite monochromatic!
Don't you just love this spring daffodil from Our Daily Bread designs?
I have been seeing daffodils pop up all over the place!  Yay!  Spring is on our doorstep!

Here are the supplies I used to create this card:

Copic markers YG63,BG93,Y000,Y08,Y32
Spellbinders Labels 10, Oval and Scalloped Oval
Anna Griffin Designer paper
SU! border punch
Cuttlebug
Foam Tape
Neenah Cream cardstock

Be Inspired Wednesday #76

Good morning everyone!!!
It's time for another Cuttlebug Challenge Wednesday and this week, it's all about Easter!
As you can see, I did several projects for this challenge.  At Christmas, a friend gave me some Martha Stewart ribbon that came in a great container, which of course I saved.
I altered it to make this little Easter gift holder!

For this next little project, I found an unfinished egg cup at Hobby Lobby. I painted it, sprayed it with Glimmer Mist and added a tag.  I painted the paper mache egg and added flowers and pearls.

Now this next project was really fun for me!
Years ago, someone gave my kids large plastic eggs full of candy.  I saved each egg knowing that one day I would do something with them!  Well, with gesso, paint and Glimmer Mist and then pretty velvet ribbon and lace, this is what I made!  And I still have another egg to alter one day!

And then, to complete this Easter challenge, I made a card.  Gotta have a card, right?

Thank you so much for visiting with me today for my Easter Cuttlebug Challenge projects!
  Hope you enjoyed them!

Here are the supplies I used for these projects:

Gesso, Making Memories paint, Glimmer Mist Pearl and Creme de Chocolat
SU! Certainly Celery, White, Chocolate Chip, unknown designer paper
Spellbinders Oval and Scalloped Oval
Memento Brown, SU! Soft Sky re-inker, SU! Chocolate chip marker
Martha Stewart Lattice Border punch
Circle punch
Lace, Velvet ribbon, narrow brown ribbon
SU! ribbon, Pretties Kit
Copic markers E0000, E41, E50, G20
Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder
Cuttlebug Tag die
Cuttlebug Butterfly die
Cuttlebug Floral Borders Die

Have a wonderful day!!!!

Happy Anniversary Our Daily Bread designs!!!

Well, today is the big day!
Our Daily Bread designs is celebrating their second anniversary!
Congratulations Kelley!  I am thrilled and blessed to be a part of your team!

If you arrived here from the Fabulous Angie Z's blog then you are going the right way!!!  We have been having so much fun celebrating this week.  I hope you all have had a chance to join us in our celebration!  We've had challenges, prizes, blog candy and today we are having a blog hop to reveal the wonderful scripture anniversary sets!  These sets are so special because each  Design Team member submitted a favorite verse that we would like to put on a card, and those Scripture Verses are two of the sets being released today.  Kelley also created two sets of gorgeous borders that fit those Scriptures!

For our Blog Hop today,
Kelley is going to give
3 Prizes of your choice of
one of these new Anniversary sets!

Here is what you need to do to qualify for the prizes:
  • Hop from first to last, and collect the secret LETTER each designer will have.
  • Leave a comment for the designer on their blog.
  • Return to the ODBd blog, leaving a comment that you visited all the blogs.
  • Email Grace at: gnywening@yahoo.com, giving her the secret message the letters spell.

You have until 8:00 PM EST on Mar 18th to complete the hop and email Grace the message.

On Mar 19th, Grace will announce ALL the winners for the entire celebration:
The Challenge Winners, Blog Candy Winners and the Blog Hop winners.

The verse I chose to submit is just a part of Proverbs 31:30.  The full verse goes like this:
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

This does not mean to be scared of our Lord.  He wants us to respect Him!
Outward charm and beauty will not get you into heaven.

The next verse says this:

Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

WOW!  I am speechless!!!

And on that note, here are the supplies I used for my scripture card:

SU! Rose Red and Regal Rose cardstock
Neenah Vanilla cardstock
SU! ribbon and Bow Easy
Versamark, Heat Tool and Clear embossing powder
SU! Bravo Burgundy ink

Be Inspired Wednesday #74

Good morning!!!
Today, over at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog, we are focusing on envelopes.
I made this envelope to match the card I made last week.
I don't know about you but I have trouble sometimes finding envelopes for my square cards.
Most of my cards measure 4 3/4 x 4 3/4.  For my envelope today,
I cut a piece of K and Co designer paper into a 7 1/2 square.
Place your paper, diamond style, onto your scoring tool and then,
score each corner 3 3/4 inches toward the center of the paper.
After scoring all four corners, you can just fold three of the corners in
and glue them to form your envelope!
The last corner can be punched at the tip with a corner rounder.
Hope I have made sense with my instructions!  I don't have photos to share, unfortunately.
Keep in mind these measurements fit my favorite card size card
so you may have to adjust the measurements for yours.
I added an embossed layer with a layer of Mellow Moss with pretty corners,
tiny die cut flowers and a spellbinders label to write the recipients name.
Since my envelope is heavily embellished, this will be given in person rather than mailing,
but you can just use a piece of printer paper to have a regular white mailing envelope.

Here is a photo of how it looks from the back.

And here is a photo with the card.

Here are the supplies I used for this envelope and seal:

K and Co designer paper
Scoring tool
Mellow Moss and Vanilla cardstock
Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder
Cuttlebug Vintage corners
Cuttlebug Floral Borders
Spellbinders Labels Four
Seam binding
Tim Holtz distress ink Vintage Photo
Brown pearls

I hope this has inspired you to make your own envelopes!
Please join us over at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog and submit your envelopes for us to see!
Check it out quickly to find out how you could be the winner of a
Raspberry Cuttlebug Prize Package!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Be Inspired with Cracked Glass

Good morning!  Today the Cuttlebug Challenge Team is all about the Cracked Glass Technique!  If you've never tried this or it's been a while, let us inspire you to have some fun!  I really love the antique, vintage look this technique can give to a project.  And it's so easy!  All you need is a glue pad of some sort, like Versamark, clear embossing powder, a heat tool, and a freezer!  After you have your image colored and ready to go, just smoosh your glue pad over the whole thing, add embossing powder over the whole thing and heat it up until it melts.  Do this again and again for as many layers as you want.  I did five layers.  Then go put it in the freezer for about five minutes or so!  When you take it out, immediately start bending the paper back and forth to get the cracks to show.  Remember to do this as soon as you take it out of the freezer because if you wait until you get back to your crafting area, it won't work.  Ask me how I know this!  LOL!  Once you have the cracks the way you want them, then you can sponge ink into those cracks to give it that aged look!  See how easy that is!  Now go try it, it's fun!!!  Here are the supplies I used for this card:

Neenah White, Mellow Moss, Archivers Brown card stocks
K&Co designer paper
Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder
Cuttlebug Vintage corners and Floral Borders dies
Memento Brown and Mellow Moss ink
Tim Holtz Antique Linen and Vintage Photo inks
Copic markers
Pearls
Ribbon and Bow Easy
Versamark, Clear embossing powder, and heat tool

Don't forget to check out all the happenings over at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog!
Lots of giveaways and lots of fun!

Thank you so much for stopping by here today!!!

Then My Soul...

Hi everyone!!!

If you landed here for the Our Daily Bread designs blog hop
just scroll down to the next post or just click here.

I made this for the Midnight Madness Sketch this week!  LOVED this sketch!!!  I practiced the Out of the Box Nestie Technique that I learned from Julie Warner.  Here is a link to her tutorial.  This is also for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge this week.  I enjoyed coloring this gorgeous image from this month's Our Daily Bread designs releases called Easter Blessings while singing/humming Amazing Grace.  I'm so glad that God doesn't critique my singing!  Isn't this Lily of the Valley image just beautiful?
Here are the supplies I used for this card:

Neenah White, Mellow Moss, Blush Blossom cardstock
Basic Grey designer paper
Spellbinders Ovals
Cuttlebug Vintage corners
Memento Black, Blush Blossom, Mellow Moss inks
Pearls

Our Daily Bread designs March Release Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs March Release Blog Hop!
I am the first stop in our Blog Hop today!!!  So if you arrived here from the
Our Daily Bread designs Blog
you are heading in the right direction!!  As usual, it's very important to follow the hop in order,
because we are having a Special Message Hop
and you will be collecting our Secret Words as you hop along,
so you will want them in the order given!

You have until Tues at 8:00PM EST to complete the requirements to be eligible to win.

There will be TWO BLESSED WINNERS... who will each receive a $15.00 Gift Certificate to the Our Daily Bread designs Store to go toward the stamps of your choice! Winners will be randomly chosen from all the qualified entries, and announced on Wed. Mar.3 on the ODBD Blog!

Here is what you need to do to be eligible to win:

  • 1. Hop from blog to blog in the order given below, writing down the secret words you will find clearly written  in each designer's posts, and leaving a comment on each blog.
  • 2. Return to the ODBD Blog and leave a comment that you completed the hop and left comments for each designer.
In the email, give Grace the secret words you found in order .... they will spell out
a special message from the Our Daily Bread designs Design Team to you!

If for any reason a link is broken, simply return to the Our Daily Bread designs Blog  to see who is next on the list, leaving a space for the missing words.  Most often if you can't get on a blog or leave a comment now.... if you wait a little while and try again you usually can.

Now on to my project:

If you have been keeping up with our sneak peeks, you already know how gorgeous the sets are this month!  My card today features the set called The Lord Has Risen.  The violets are gorgeous and there are three scriptures included.  I included the close up photo above, hoping you'll be able to see the violets better. I stamped the image a second time so that I could layer the violets.  After coloring them, I turned them over onto a piercing mat and ran my stylus on the backside to give them rounded petals.  I also did this with some of the leaves.  Then I turned the violets back over and with the same stylus pushed in the center of each flower.  I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist and added pearls.  I also did the Out of the Box Nestie technique, which I have never done!  I followed a great tutorial by my friend and DT sister, Julie Warner!  After I finished though, I felt the card needed one more thing, so I cut out a very slim oval using two Spellbinders ovals and added the brown frame.  So that's it!  Here are all the supplies I used for this card:

SU! Kraft, Almost Amethyst, Kraft designer paper
Brown paper from Archiver's
Memento Brown Ink
Versamark, Clear embossing powder and Heat Tool
Copic Markers
Spellbinders Oval and Scalloped Ovals
SU! ribbon
Pearls
Stylus Tool and Bow Easy

Now before you go, I want to tell you about the exciting events we have planned for you this month!
