Be Inspired Wednesday #72

Good morning!
This week's challenge over at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog is to make a wall hanging!  And since I seem to be stuck in the Christmas mode lately, I made a wall hanging
to match a card I made recently.  This little artist canvas is 5x5.
I painted it with Making Memories White paint.
I used several layers of white cardstock which are added to a layer of Real Red cardstock.
Two of the white layers are embossed with the Provo Craft Cuttlebug Snow Dots embossing folder.
I colored this gorgeous cardinal from an Our Daily Bread designs set called Sing for Joy
with copic markers.  I added sentiment with the help of my Stamp-a-ma-jig.
The sentiment is also from Our Daily Bread designs from a set called Christmas Verses.
The snowflakes are from a Provo Craft Cuttlebug die and I added red rhinestones to each snowflake.
The ribbon is from StampinUp!  I sprayed the whole thing with
Tattered Angels Marshmallow Glimmer Mist which really helps give it that Christmas feel!

Thanks for visiting with me today!  Go check out the Cuttlebug Challenge blog to see what the other designers have created for you!  And while you are there, don't forget to sign up to be a follower!

Cardinal in a Globe

Good morning everyone!  Hope you are having a great Tuesday!  Today, I have my very first Flower Soft globe card to show you!  Kelley, owner of Our Daily Bread designs, offers these cool Flower Soft Globes in her store and they are so fun to work with!!!  I used one of this month's releases called Sing for Joy.  I have decided that this is my favorite of all the bird sets released!  This cardinal is so easy and fun to color!  The ODBd store sells the globes with a little chipboard guide for the cut out area, which makes it easy to figure out.  There are cards and envelopes available for purchase also.  I added a little frame around the globe and then lots and lots of Martha's little punched branches.  Polar White Flower Soft is on the inside of the globe and on the branches around the globe.  This is a much larger card than I usually make, it's about 5x7.  So, for the background, I embossed one end with the Cuttlebug Snow Dots folder and then turned it around, matched it as closely as I could and embossed the other end.  I do this a lot and it works really well with a  lot of the Cuttlebug folders. If you can't get it to match up, just hide the part that shows with
ribbon or a bow or something.  It's usually not very noticeable!
Thanks for taking a minute to visit with me and I hope you have a fantastic day!

Come Let Us Sing!!!

Hi everyone!  I made this for this past week's Midnight Madness sketch but I think I'm getting it in too late!  Oh well, it's a great sketch and I always enjoy playing so here it is anyway!  I used the gorgeous Sing for Joy set that was released this month from Our Daily Bread designs.  I love this set!!!  This time I stamped on Kraft and colored the image with one of those crocodile clips and tiny cotton ball things, not sure what they are called!  LOL!  I used SU! inkpads.  The designer papers are cuttlebugged.  I added lots of pearls especially on the Martha twigs and the whole thing is sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist!

Here are the supplies I used:
SU! Kraft, Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy cardstock
Pearls
Cuttlebug Snow Dots and Holly Ribbons folders
Martha Stewart punch
SU! Kraft ribbon
Memento Brown
SU!  Bravo Burgundy, Rose Red, Always Artichoke inks

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great night!

Just One Stamp...Create Five Cards

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great Monday so far!
I've been having fun making cards to show you today!
Today is my turn to do a tutorial for the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog and
my challenge is to show you five cards made with just one stamp!!!
I chose a beautiful scripture stamp from Our Daily Bread designs for my projects.
Here is the first card, which is done with the Damask folder and die combo.
I flipped one of the die cuts so that it would be a mirror image of the other.

First off, here are all the supplies that I used for these cards:

ODBd scripture stamp from the Happy Birthday set
Neenah, Co'Ordinations, and SU! cardstock
SU! and Basic Grey Designer papers
SU! ribbon, silver cord
Primas, charm, buttons and pearls
Bow Easy and Stamp-a-ma-jig, Sanding block
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders-
Textiles, Damask, Leafy Branch, Swiss Dots, and Birds & Swirls, Ironworks Borders
Cuttlebug Dies-Corner Die, Damask Die, Ornamental Die

This particular scripture stamp can be used for so many occasions, especially when used with various Cuttlebug embossing folders and dies!  I will actually be using these for birthday cards!

I keep a piece of chipboard, which is cut the same size as the Cuttlebug folders and has an oval cut out of the center.  This is what I used to get the un-embossed area in the middle of my brown card.  Just put your card stock in the folder as usual and then make this sandwich: A plate, chipboard, embossing folder with paper inside, then your C plate.  Then just run it through your bug!  Depending on your machine, you may have to play around with the sandwich.  The bottom of that card is part of the frame on the Damask Frame die.

The center card was the easy one of the bunch.  I just embossed with the Leafy Branch folder and sponged it to highlight the raised areas.  The gorgeous vintage corners are what gives this card that little extra punch!

For the soft green and vanilla card, I used the Birds and Swirls folder with Core'dinations cardstock and sanded the raised areas to show the inner core of the paper.  The tags are cut with the Onamental combo die and are attached with ribbon.  I just added tiny pearls here and there along with one tiny prima flower for an elegant look.

This last card is my favorite I think.  I love the vintage style and I think this captures that feel.  The Basic Grey designer paper is embossed with the Textile embossing folder and sponged.  Again, I used one side of the Damask Frame Die to create the bottom border and embossed another border from the Ornamental Iron border set.  I added ribbon and primas and an old button from my stash.

Thank you so much for joining me today for my first tutorial!  I hope that this will inspire you to see what you can do with just one stamp!!  Don't forget to add the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog blinkie to your blog and sign up to be a follower!  We love having you visit and we appreciate all of you!!

Have a wonderful week!!!

Be Inspired Wednesday #71

Hi everyone!!  Are you all ready for another fun challenge?  This week's challenge over at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot is all about stitching!!!  The Design Team has some gorgeous inspiration to help get you inspired!  Please play along with us!  And while you are visiting the blog, add your name to the followers list!  We are on a mission to 4000 followers!   Maggie and the team always have something to show you to spark your creativity!  And we love having you all join in!!!

This week's Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot sponsor is Crop Stop!!!  Are you passionate about scrapbooking memories and paper-crafting projects? CropStop is your one-stop solution. CropStop offers an extensive selection of paper-crafting tools, dies, ribbons, embellishments and embossing folders from the most popular manufacturers. They have recently become the only US store to sell Crafts Too embossing folders and are proud to be one of the few stores with the exclusive European Cuttlebug embossing folders. CropStop also carries an array of storage solutions to keep everything organized. Their selection of accents and adhesives is continually expanding and they're the home of the colorful Ribbon Candy™.

For my card today, I used both sides of a piece of K&Co designer paper.  I simply used my piercing tool to place holes along the stems and flowers design on the paper.  Then I used DMC floss to do my stitching.  A long time ago, before scrapbooking and cardmaking took control of my life,  I did quite a bit of cross stitching and embroidery so I have lots of floss that I haven't used in years!  I cut out several other flowers so that I could layer them for dimension.  The flower centers are french knots!  That was always one of my favorite things in embroidery!!!  I love the sweet homespun look that stitching gives to a project.  Can you believe I didn't use any stamps for this card? Anyway, come join us, we would love to have you!  Have a great Wednesday!!!
Here are the supplies I used for this card:

Neenah paper for the base card
K&Co designer paper
Cuttlebug Damask Combo, With Gratitude Combo and Butterflies Combo
Pearls
DMC floss
Sponges and Piercing Tool
SU! ribbon and Sage Shadow and Ruby Red Inks
Copic marker

A Cardinal Christmas

Happy Saturday y'all!  With the snow we got here yesterday, I was in the mood to make a Christmas card!  I used this week's Midnight Madness sketch to showcase this gorgeous cardinal from Our Daily Bread designs.  This set is called Sing for Joy and I combined it with the Christmas set called Blessed Christmas.  I colored with copics and very lightly sprayed Marshmallow Glimmer Mist over the finished card for just a touch of sparkle!  This is also for the Ways to Use It challenge this week to have an odd number of embellishments on your card.  There are 27 pearls on the left side, three on the swirly thingy and only one swirly thingy!!  LOL!!  Thanks for taking a look and have a great weekend!

Here are the supplies I used for this card-
Cuttlebug Snow Dots folder
Copic markers

It's Wednesday! Be Inspired!

Good morning!!!  I'm really excited to show you this card today because I think I have come up with a new technique!  I've never seen it done anyway, so if someone else has tried this please let me know!  I am calling it Mod Podge Buggin'!  The challenge this week at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot is to use fabric.  Well, I am not a seamstress so only have a few little scraps of fabric from various craft projects over the years.  I found a piece of cotton beige material that I used on this card.  I Mod Podged the fabric to a piece of white cardstock and when it dried, I ran it through my cuttlebug!!!  It worked!!!  Then I sprayed it with several colors of Glimmer Mist because I LOVE Glimmer Mist!  It worked!!!  For the wreath I used a Cuttlebug frame die for the base and then tucked, weaved and glued lots of Cuttlebug corners around it.  The beautiful sparrow and sentiment is from an Our Daily Bread designs set called He Watches Me.  Here is a closer view.

What do you think about Mod Podge Buggin'?  I sort of shocked myself with this one!  LOL!

Here are the supplies I used for this card:

Cuttlebug folders-Ornamental Iron, Vintage Corners, Rose Frame
Glimmer Mist-Cre'me de Chocolate, Vintage Pink, Bubblegum Pink
Copic Markers
Mod Podge Matte
SU! Pretty in Pink ribbon, silver cord
SU! Pretty in Pink, Creamy Caramel, Vanilla cardstock
Tim Holtz Vintage Photo and Linen distress inks
Bow Easy
PRAY charm

So glad you stopped by for a visit!

Here are the supplies I used for this card:

Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink
SU! Soft Suede, So Saffron and Bella Birds designer paper

Birds are Amazing

Hey there!!!!
If you are looking for the Our Daily Bread designs Blog Hop,
scroll down to the next post or click here.

I made this card today for the color challenge to use Basic Gray, Crushed Curry and Bravo Burgundy.
I also used the sketch over at Cristian Paper Crafts Blog!
I have to tell you, I have been shying away from Crushed Curry.  It's just not one of my favorites! I cuttlebugged it and sponged it so that helped it appeal to me a little better!!!  I also used two sets that were released yesterday from Our Daily Bread designs called Sing for Joy and You Will Find Refuge.  Notice how the sentiment fits nicely inside the Spellbinders oval!!!
The background music is the
Amazing Grace Hymn stamp from ODBd!
I think the little Hope charm is a good match for this sentiment, don't you?
Something else, I don't have the in-color ink pads, so to sponge the curry color,
I scribbled the marker onto an acrylic block to pick up the ink for sponging!!!

Here are the supplies I used for this card:

Memento Black
Copic markers
SU! Bravo Burgundy
SU! Crushed Curry marker
SU! ribbon
SU! silver cord
Foam tape and glue dots
Spellbinders Oval, Curved Rectangles
Metal charm

Thanks for stopping by today!  Before you go, I want you to notice my new fabulous siggy!!!
Isn't it pretty?  My friend Lorelie is now in the business of making siggy's and stuff.  I asked for something simple and elegant and she made this to match my blog!  Cool huh?

Are you loving these new sets so far?  They are gorgeous!!!!  For my card, I used the sets You Will Find Refuge and Sing For Joy.  I wanted to do an easel card for our big hop today and I had so much fun making this!!!!  Lots of sponging and coloring and getting my fingers all inky!!! Did you notice on the inside of my card, I masked with a piece of punched paper and sponged the scallops at the bottom?  Just gives a little extra something to the inside of the card!

  Hope you are having fun!!

StampinUp! Kraft, Perfect Plum, Bella Birds designer paper, Vanilla
Memento Brown Ink
Unknown ribbon to match
Possibly every copic marker I own!
