Looking Back at the ODBD March Release!

Today we are taking a look back at the Our Daily Bread designs March Release!  Thank you for joining us today as we share more projects featuring the new releases!  We hope you are inspired!

My first card is made with the Bee Balm set, pairing it with the ODBD Custom Daisy Chain Background Die.  The opening of the frame is cut with an ODBD Custom Antique Labels and Borders die.  The sentiment is from a past release called Ornate Border Sentiments

I made this one with the new Zinnia, Zinnia and Leaves Dies and Bee Happy along with former die releases, ODBD Elegant Oval, ODBD Ornate Hearts, and ODBD Circle Ornaments.  The little bees are colored with copics.  The background paper is from the ODBD Blooming Garden Collection.

Here are all of the ODBD products used to make both cards:

Happy Sixth Anniversary ODBD!

Good morning!
It's time to celebrate the sixth anniversary of Our Daily bread designs!!!
Congratulations Kelley!! I am so happy for you!
It is an honor to design for this fantastic company and to call all of these ladies my 'sisters'!

Here are the details of how you can be one of the lucky winners today!

Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers blogs to receive a $25 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps; ONE lucky random commenter will be randomly chosen to win the 2014 Anniversary Bundle!  You have until March 18, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments! The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on March 19th, so be sure to check back to see if you won!

Each year Kelley gives her design team the opportunity to choose a scripture, quote or sentiment to be made into a stamp and included in a stamp set.  This year I chose a sentiment that has had special meaning in our family for several years now.  After one of my Grandfather's died, our son bought a sweet garden stepping stone with this sentiment carved into it, along with my Grandfather's name. He gave it to my Grandma and she treasured it in her beautiful flower garden until she passed away
on her 92nd birthday in 2012.

Here is the set that includes my stamp choice:

I made a sympathy card and then two projects that memorialize my Dad who passed away last November.   I have experienced the pain that losing a loved one brings. But I had no idea how heartbroken I would be when my Daddy died.  Logically I know he is with the Lord and is no longer suffering.  But my heart just can't seem to heal.  I miss him so much!  So, it was somewhat therapeutic to create these two projects memorializing my Dad using a sentiment that had also memorialized my Grandfather.

For the sympathy card, I embossed a frame with Spellbinders dies.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with an ODBD Custom Antique Labels and Borders die.  I used foam tape to adhere it to the card base.  I cut out the swirl with the ODBD Fancy Foliage dies and trimmed it into several pieces to tuck in behind the sentiment.  A sweet and simple sympathy card.  Below shows the inside where you can see I used an ODBD Beautiful Borders die and a sympathy sentiment from a previous release called All Occasion Sentiments.

And here is the ornament and the frame I created:

I wish I could have gotten better photos to share! I had a hard time not getting the glare!
Since I wanted these projects to be masculine, I tried to keep things simple.

The ornament was purchased at Michael's and I cut a circle frame with a Spellbinders circle and the ODBD Custom Circle Ornament Dies.  I kind of stippled white paint onto the ornament and frames before I assembled everything.   I stamped the sentiment on the same type of photo paper that I used to print Daddy's picture.  Then I cut out the shape using the ODBD Custom Ornate Borders and Flower dies and hand wrote his name and his birth/death years.  I added some leaves from the new Zinnia and Leaves dies

The picture frame was also from Michael's.  I painted it with brown paint and then  added lots of miscellaneous buttons.  The heart button has some twine threaded through it.  I stamped the sentiment on photo paper again and cut it out with the ODBD Custom Antique Labels and Borders dies.  I popped it up with foam tape and added seam binding, more twine and another button!

We thank you all so much for helping to make ODBD a success!
And we love having you hop with us today!

Healing to the Bones

 Hi there!  Happy Thursday!

I made this card for the following challenges:

When I saw the WT challenge this morning I immediately thought of this one sheet of paper in the  ODBD Blooming Garden Paper Collection!  I embossed it with the ODBD Custom Daisy Chain Background Die and then added the lace trim cut with the ODBD Beautiful Border dies.  The sentiment from the new set called Bee Happy, is cut out with the ODBD Antique Labels and Borders die.  The little bee is also cut out with a die in the new ODBD Zinnia and Leaves die set.  I added matching green ribbon and stickles to the little bee to complete the card!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!

Looking Back at the NCC February Release!

 Good morning!

Today we are taking a look back at the North Coast Creations February Release!
I chose to feature the hydrangea image in Floral Sentiments 6.  I love hydrangeas!  I used designer paper from ODBD Blooming Garden Collection and added a layer of embossed vellum for the TLC challenge this week on SplitCoast.  The image is colored with copic markers.  I stamped and colored the image a second time and cut out a few pieces to pop up.
You can see a better view of the dimension on the photo below.

Here is a second card:

This time with the Floral Sentiments 5 set.  Colored with copics and cut out with ODBD Antique Labels and Borders die and layered over the ODBD Daisy Chain Background die.  I added white paint to the centers of some of the flowers.

These are the sets I featured today:

Welcome to the ODBD March Release!

Good morning!  It's March already!!!  2014 is galloping along full speed ahead!

Today is release day at Our Daily Bread designs!  And as usual, Kelley has blown us away with more fabulous sets, dies and paper!!!  Y'all are gonna love 'em!

And here is how you can win:

Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designer's blogs to receive a $25 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps.  You have until March 2, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EST to make your comments!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on March 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

My first card features the new Zinnia set along with the coordinating Zinnia and Leaves Dies.  I cut out the base flower with the new die but the other two layers were cut out free hand just so I could get a little dimension.   I added a Beautiful Border and the sentiment is cut out with Ornate Borders and Flowers die.  Oh and there is some Fancy Foliage too!  Each piece is sponged with distress ink for a shabby look.

And I love the little Hummingbird and the Bee Balm so much!  I have had the pleasure the last couple of years to enjoy several Hummingbird feeders in my backyard and I am looking forward to having the little creatures visit again this year!  And I think I need to plant some Bee Balm!  In the meantime, we can enjoy the new stamps and dies from ODBD!  I made a frame with Spellbinders A-2 dies and have the new Daisy Chain die cut behind the frame.  The Bee Balm image is colored with copics and cut out with the Antique Labels and Borders die.  I colored the little hummer and cut him out with the new Hummingbird die.  To complete the card I added some stickles!

Here are the products I used for these two projects:
