A Look Back at the ODBD January Release

 Good morning!
Today we are looking back at the fabulous new releases from Our Daily Bread designs this month!

I am absolutely loving the Apothecary Bottles set and the coordinating ODBD Custom Apothecary Bottles dies!  I decided to go a little shabby chic for this card.  The background papers are distressed with paint and actually have a canvas feel!  I used a Cherry Lynn Doily behind the bottle.  I cut out the image from the Lavender set with the ODBD Custom Antique Labels and Borders die.  I added a little copic color to the lavender image and on the bottle.  The little corner die cut is from the ODBD Custom Ornate Borders and Flowers dies.  I finished the card with a few pearls and several splashes of Glimmer Mist!

Here are the ODBD products I used today:

Bottle of Prayers

Hey there!

Last week I spent a few days with my Mom.
We had a great time and I can't wait to go back!  But I left my camera!
Oh no!!!  Believe it or not this photo was taken with my phone!  Not too bad!
I spent all weekend packing up Christmas decorations and now they are all put away
so had a little creative time today!  Yay!

The new Apothecary Bottles and Joy in a Jar sets are so beautiful!  I am enjoying playing with them!  I cut out the bottles from designer paper with the new Custom Apothecary Bottles dies.  I used copic markers to add the vintage shading to the bottles and the background layer too. You can't see it in the photo but I 'painted' stickles over the whole thing.  Sort of a dry brush technique. I used the Custom Antique Labels and Borders dies to emboss one of the bottles and to cut out the label for the other.

Here are the ODBD supplies I used:

This and That...

Hello friends.   This has been a sad couple of months for us.  I posted in November that my sweet Daddy passed away.  And now, my Mother in Law has gone to be with Jesus too.  I have been her caregiver for the last two years.  She had Alzheimer's.  We were able to keep her in her own home until the end.  Her last moments were peaceful and for that I am thankful.  And I am also thankful she has her memory restored
now!!!  Needless to say, our Thanksgiving and Christmas were pretty sad.  But with the Lord's help, we will make it through!  One day at a time!

Now I want to get back on track.  Kelley and my DT sisters have been so good to me!  And Kelley said to take as long as I need but I have to get back to making cards!  It is therapy for me as I am sure many of you can understand!  So here is my last card for 2013!!!

I used two new ODBD sets for this shabby card.

A Shabby Happy Birthday

Hi there!  I have shabby card to share today!  The new ODBD Ornate Borders and Flowers set with the Custom Ornate Borders and Flowers dies are so fun to play with!  The birthday sentiment is from the Ornate Sentiments set.  Several pieces of this card were 'rejects' from precious card attempts!  Yes I save way more stuff than I should but I just know I may use that one little piece one day!

Here are the ODBD projects I used:

Isn't it Romantic?

This is one of my favorite scriptures!  Song of Songs 3:4- I found the one whom my soul loves...

This scripture is found in the new ODBD set called Love Scriptures.

I decided to play along in The Shabby Tea Room Challenge 175 which is a photo inspiration along with using pearls, lace and flowers.  The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye.  I used the ODBD/Spellbinders Window Die to cut from the same designer paper and made the bow with Becca's Peg Bow Maker.  The pearls were added to the lace along the side.

Hope you are having a great week so far!  Thanks for stopping by!

Spread Wings of Faith

Hi there!!!  Hope you are having a fabulous day!

My card today was inspired by the sketch challenge today on Splitcoast.  I say inspired because I forgot all about the square layer that was supposed to go in the center!  Oh well, it is what it is!   I am also entering this into the weekly Word Art Wednesday challenge!

I love creating shabby chic cards!  Mix up some pink papers and white paint, doilies and birds or bird cages, a pretty bow and a banner and you've got yourself a shabby chic card y'all!  LOL!  I am still in love with the new Our Daily Bread designs sets, To the Lovebirds and Banner Sentiments.  Having the coordinating ODBD/Spellbinders Birdcage and Banner dies is a huge plus!

See the little birdies spreading their wings in faith?

Here are all the ODBD supplies I used today:

Thank you so much for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your week!

  • To qualify to win, all you have to do is hop to each of the designers, leave a comment and return to the ODBD Blog to tell us you completed the hop, and let us know of any difficulties you had along the way.
Here is my first project:

I am in love with these sweet little praying children!  I used the Precious Girl set for my first card.  I also wanted to make my card a little vintage and a little shabby chic!  I use several coordinating sheets of Prima designer paper.  I did lots of sponging and distressing and embossing.  If you will notice, I inked and masked the For you from one of the sentiments and stamped it along the right edge of the card base.
I cut out two diecuts using the ODBD/Spellbinders Antique Labels and Border dies and the ODBD/Spellbinders Recipe Card and Tags dies.  I layered these down on the card base and tucked a little distressed and sponged doily behind the label.  The Bless the Child sentiment is popped up on the tag.  I added seam binding and a Prima flower and leaf to the tag.  After I added the lace, I stamped the little girl, colored her with copic markers and then cut her out.  She is popped up with foam tape as well.  Then I added the row of rhinestones to complete the card!

And here is my second card:

I kept the vintage/shabby look going for this card, which features the new Home of the Free set!  The background was created with the Old Flag Background. I sponged ink on the flag using masks for the stripes.  Then I embossed it with the SU! folder and distressed the edges.  Next, I lightly coated it with white acrylic paint.

I cut out the Spellbinders hearts, sponged them and added to the card base.  I colored the eagle with copics and cut him out.  Then I stamped the stars and cut them out.  The banner is from Memory Box.  I masked each letter from the AMERICA sentiment to create the banner.  I added lace and beautiful gingham ribbon I recently found at my local thrift store.  I made the bow with Becca's Peg Bow Maker.

After putting the card together, I added stickles to the eagle and glossy accents to each star!

Here are all of the ODBD supplies I used for these projects:
