Our Daily Bread Sneak Peek

Good morning!!! Here is a sneak peek of one of the new sets being released on December 1st by Our Daily Bread designs! This set is called Peace and Joy and it's one that I know you all will love!!! What a beautiful snowflake! I was inspired by a card from Birgit (Biggan), the Featured Stamper this last Sunday! Here is the card I cased.

I started with a base of Naturals White. I stamped the snowflake on Kraft with white ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I sponged the edges of the Kraft layer with white too. I also painted the snowflake with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist and added Zva pearls. I added white satin ribbon and that is it! This would be a great card to mass produce!

Thanks for visiting and see ya soon!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Congratulations to all of you!!!!

Here is this week's Midnight Madness sketch!

And here is my take!

From the moment I saw this sketch, I could not get the idea of a ribbon weave for each side of the card out of my head, so I just went with it. This is actually the second card I made for this sketch and I will show you that one at a later date! After it was said and done though, I really didn't like the ribbon! But, what do stampers do? They cover it up! Hahaha!

Anyway, my base card is Sahara Sand. For the background, I cuttlebugged a piece of Bordering Blue sprayed it with Silver Glimmer Mist and layered this with Not Quite Navy. I punched little rectangles along the sides to weave the Silver Glimmer Mist sprayed Organdy ribbon through. I stamped this gorgeous Angel from Our Daily Bread designs, and cut a rectangle with a Spellbinders die. I masked around the edges to lightly stamp The Amazing Grace Hymn and lightly sponge too. This is layered with a Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangle. I stamped the angel again and colored her with copics. She is then 'painted' with pearl and silver Glimmer Mist and cut out to layer. I added the sentiment on another Spellbinders tag. Here is where I decided I really didn't' care for the ribbon!!! So, I decided to add one billion Martha Stewart twigs and one billion rhinestones!!! It's all about learning, right?!

Thanks again to all of the Midnight Madness design team, for a wonderful time!
I will keep playing each week as time allows,
so you won't have a chance to forget me! haha!

And thanks to all of you who visit me!
I really appreciate it so much!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!!!!

He is Christ the Lord!

Hi everyone! It's been a few days since my last post. So many things going on! But I HAD to take little time out to make this for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge this week to make a shadow box card! The challenge is based on this scripture:

1 Corinthians 13:12 (King James Version):
"For now we see through a glass, darkly;
but then face to face: now I know in part;
but then shall I know even as also I am known."

Isn't it wonderful to know that when we get to heaven, we'll be able to see Jesus face to face and everything will be clear! No more shadows!!!! I look forward to that so much!!!

Anyway, to make this card I followed this tutorial. I used Our Daily Bread designs set called Luke 2:11. The base card is Not Quite Navy. The ovals are cut with Spellbinders Ovals. I stamped the sentiment first and then the poinsettia three times on Sahara Sand cardstock. I colored the poinsettia with various blue copics and them sprayed them with Peach Glimmer Mist and cut them out to layer. The background is SEI foil paper and the edges are Prism Metallic Copper paper. I used Martha's lattice border punch and her twig punch. I used my new little Bow Easy for the bow, and sort of wound the tails around and attached in a couple of places with glue dots. Then I covered those glue dots with rhinestones to finish the card!

Thanks Stampin' Sisters in Christ for another beautiful challenge!
And thank you for visiting with me tonight!
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

This is a fun sketch and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

And here is my take on the sketch!

I used this wonderful poinsettia image and sentiment from Our Daily Bread designs! These November releases are called Luke 2:11 and Christmas Verses. I stamped the image and colored it with copics. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to place the sentiment. I stamped the poinsettia several more times and colored them and cut them out to layer the flower. The designer paper is a gorgeous piece of Peppermint Bark paper by SEI! I embossed it with the new cuttlebug embossing folder called Ornamental Iron. I love embossing designer paper! Gives such texture! To finish the card, I added the spellbinders corner embellishment, SU! ribbon, silver pearls and the charm! I used my new Bow Easy to make the triple bow.
Man I love that little tool!!!

Thank you so much for visiting with me for Midnight Madness!
Enjoy the sketch and I'll see you soon!!!

Rejoice!

I made this for the Featured Stamper Challenge today! TreasureOiler does such fantastic work! I chose this card to case! I used different stamp sets, Our Daily Bread designs Joy to the World and Christmas Verses. I did do the cracked glass technique, but since it is only my second attempt, I'm not so sure it turned out quite right! I sponged with Chocolate Chip and Tim Holtz distress inks. I added a sentiment, and brads, cuttlebugged the Chocolate Chip layer with the Holly Ribbons embossing folder! I also did the ribbon a little differently, I used my new Bow Easy! I also used a Spellbinders instead of top note die. Thanks for the inspiration Dawn! Have a great week everyone! I'm glad you stopped by! See ya again soon!

Paper-Chocolate chip, Vanilla
Ink-Chocolate Chip, TH distress inks
Accessories-bow easy, ribbon, mat pack, SU vanilla brads, spellbinders, embossing powder, heat gun, cuttlebug and folder

Black Magic with a Twist and Shimmer and Some Awards!!!

Hi y'all! Hope everyone is having a great day!

I just want to remind everyone to play in the
Show us the Shimmer Challenge
on the Our Daily Bread designs Blog!

Today (Nov 15th) is the last day to have a chance to win a $30.00 store credit!!!
How cool would that be???
Come on and play!

I took a little time out tonight to play with a couple of Stampin'Up sets I just bought and I wanted to do the Black Magic technique. Karen Barber has a great tutorial on her blog that I followed. But I added some shimmer, thus Black Magic with a Twist and Shimmer! On black cardstock I stamped the image from A Cardinal Christmas with White ink. I heat set it and then colored it in with SU! colored pencils. Then I stamped the snowflake from Snow Swirled in white again and added details with a white gel pen. I heat set this again and sprayed the whole thing with Gold Glimmer Mist! I layered this onto Mellow Moss and distressed the edges. The Real Red strip is punched with Martha's border punch and embossed with a Cuttlebug border. I added three strips of narrow red organdy ribbon and a big red organdy bow. This was all added to the Real Red base card. I added the sentiment and gold pearls to finish the card!!!

Another Christmas card completed!!!

USMC Birthday

Good Morning and Happy Veteran's Day!!!
Thank you to all who have served and those who are now serving in our country's armed forces! I appreciate the sacrifices you and your families have made for our United States of America!

I made this card and gave it to my husband yesterday to celebrate the United States Marine Corps birthday! He is not active duty and regrets this fact! Once a Marine, always a Marine!!! To continue the birthday celebration, I made my version of SOS for dinner! haha! Just ground beef with white gravy and biscuits, served with green beans and a salad. Actually, it's pretty yummy!!

Anyway, back to the card! I used the embossing technique, where the center is free of embossing. I used this tutorial from The Cuttlebug Spot that was given to us during a recent TLC. I used the star embossing folder and a round nestie. I added some stars and rhinestones. To make the bow I used my new Bow Easy! I think this little tool will get quite a bit of use from me!!!

Thank you again to all of our military and their families!
And thank you for visiting me today!

Burgundy Joy

I had to take some time out to make this card for the color challenge today! Bravo Burgundy, Kraft and Vanilla were the colors. In real life the organdy ribbon matches perfectly with the burgundy! I have no clue why it looks red in the photo! I used the double embossing technique found here. I used SU! poinsettia folder and a round nestie. I stamped this beautiful sentiment from the new Christmas Verses set from Our Daily Bread designs with versamark and Bravo Burgundy ink and then clear embossed it. I had to use my stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up inside the circle. I used SU! punches for the poinsettia, sponged them, and sprayed them with Gold Glimmer Mist. I made the bow with the help of my little Bow Easy!. And I doodled with a gold paint pen inside the embossed flowers. I added gold cord and gold pearls to complete!

Thanks for stopping by again today!

Midnight Madness Tuesday

It's Midnight Madness Tuesday!!!! Good Morning everyone!
Once again the MMSC Team has a fantastic sketch to challenge you!
I had so much fun with this one!

This week's MMSC sponsor is Michelle Perkett and I'm using one of her digis for my card!

I loved Holly, The Christmas Friendship Fairy immediately!

Thanks Michelle!

I cuttlebugged the SU! Christmas designer paper with their poinsettia embossing folder and sponged the edges with Real Red. This is layered on Real Red and then on a base of Pretty in Pink. I colored Holly with copics to match the papers and added Polar White Flower Soft to the trim of her dress. I sponged the edges of this before layering again with the same colors. To complete the card, I added double Cuttlebug corners, ribbon, a Flower Soft covered Martha snowflake and a red rhinestone!

Now for the winners of last week's challenge!!!!

The Midnight Madness Masterpiece award goes to....

#1 Grace

And the Midnight Madness Remarkables Awards go to...

#9 SuperNan

#16 Connie

Green Poinsettia Christmas

Happy Sunday everyone!!! I made this card for today's Featured Stamper Challenge! Today's FS is Christine aka Chrisations.ink! Wow! What a talent she has! I chose to case this card. I used some beautiful SEI papers for my squares. On the squares that did not already have a little sparkle, I doodled on them with Stickles. These squares are matted to a layer of Always Artichoke and then placed on a base card of Bashful Blue. For my flower, I used the new Our Daily Bread designs set called Blessed Christmas. I stamped the poinsettia three times with Versamark ink and clear embossed. I sponged them with Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke ink and then cut them out. Then I 'painted' them with Marshmallow and Olive Glimmer Mist. I pieced this all together adding the organdy ribbon with a rhinestone brad. Then I added some Martha twigs to finish the card! Hope all of you have a blessed day! Thanks for stopping by!

Be Not Dismayed

Hi! Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I am finally getting a chance to blog this card I made for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge from last week. The challenge was to make a card or project that reminds me that God is always with me. Well, I focused on this beautiful scripture included in Scripture Collection 1 from Our Daily Bread designs. WOW! This verse is powerful, isn't it?! I used Spellbinders Oval dies, a Martha border punch, and cuttlebug embossing folders. The SU! designer paper is embossed with the new Victoria folder, I thought it looked a lot like the pattern in the paper! The cardstock I used is Bordering Blue, Not Quite Navy, and Vanilla. The ink is Bordering Blue and Night of Navy. I added ribbon, silver cord, silver pearls and a charm to complete the card!

Thank you Stampin' Sisters for another great challenge!
Thanks for coming by to visit tonight!
Have a great night!

Playing catch up once again!

Hi everyone!

I have two cards to show you for two of my favorite challenges from this last weekend! The first one is for the Inspiration Challenge on SCS. This time we took our inspiration from Franz Porcelain and I chose this gorgeous piece here! And of course I had to use the new Our Daily Bread releases to create this card.

I stamped and clear or white embossed bunches of poinsettias and cut and cut and cut! I lightly sponged the centers with Mellow Moss ink. I punched out several Martha Stewart twig thingies for my greenery. For the background I embossed with a snowflake folder, and I cut out an oval with a Spellbinders die. I white embossed the scripture. I sponged the edges with white ink and then I sprayed the background and the greenery with Glimmer Mist, Marshmallow for the background and Pearl for the greenery. And then I started 'building' my card. I added ribbon and red rhinestones to finish. I used Whisper White, Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue cardstock. The Chocolate Chip layer is sponged with white so it looks gray! Anyway, I love layering these poinsettias! I used all three of the new sets for this card.

And Kelley is offering a 10 % discount when you order
The Poinsettia Collection (that's all three sets)!
Here is a link to the ODBD Store!

Also, don't forget to play in our
Show Us The Shimmer Challenge
for a chance to win a $30.00 store credit!!!

And here is my second second card to share with you today!

I made this one for the Featured Stamper Challenge. The honor this week went to the CAS (Clean and Simple) queen, Jen!!! She has an awesome gallery and blog! But of course, as you all know, one of my biggest difficulties is CAS! haha! So I chose this card to CASE and while this is CAS for me, it's not so CAS!!! I kept the same theme and colors but used a different stamp set, added an extra layer of Kraft, cuttlebugged my stamped background, changed the ribbon placement and added Martha's snowflakes with bling! I also made a square card instead of regular size because I can't stop making square cards!!! Congrats Jen on your special week!!!

Thanks everyone for visiting again today!

My First MMSC Guest Designer Card!

Good morning!!!

If you are here to follow Our Daily Bread designs November blog Hop,
scroll down to the post below or click
here!

Yep, I'm still pinching myself over here!!! I am the newest Guest Designer for the Midnight Madness Blog and I am so excited to show you my first card!
I loved this week's sketch and had so much fun putting my card together!

This month's Midnight Madness Sponsor is
Michelle's Scrapbooking & More

Heather provided us with some adorable images to use and
I chose one called Pure Innocense.
Thank you so much Heather!

I used White cardstock and a sheet of pink from Archiver's that is a very close match to Pink Pirouette. I used two different Cuttlebug embossing folders. For my corner circle, I traced a little china saucer, to get the larger size. I added pretty lace to the edge of this partial circle. I cut a pendant with the Fleur De Lis Spellbinders die to layer behind my Spellbinder Ovals. I colored the image with copics. I printed this twice and did some layering of the little girl image. I added Polar White Flower Soft for snow and their stocking caps. I finished with ribbon and white pearls!
What do you think?

Now on to the winners from last week's sketch!!!

The Midnight Madness Masterpiece award goes to...

And our three Midnight Madness Remarkables are...

#3 Karen Wallace
#9 Karen Lynn
and
#40 Pam 124

Congratulations to all of our winners! And thank you all for playing!

Have fun and thanks for visiting with me today!

November Release Day and Blog Hop and a Challenge

Good Morning and Happy November to everyone! Today is the day Our Daily Bread designs releases it's newest collection of sets!!!! The Poinsettia Collection is here!!! And we are celebrating with a Blog Hop and a challenge! If you arrived here from Dawn's blog you are going in the right direction! If not, please visit the ODBD blog and begin from there. This is so important because along the hop each designer has a secret word or words for you to collect. Write down each designer's name and their word/words, remember to leave a comment and then go back to the ODBD blog to comment that you have this info ready. Don't give out the info there though! A special email will be given to you so that you can email the words and designer's names in the correct order. This is all you need to do to have a chance to win the entire Poinsettia Collection! That is three sets!!!! WooHoo!

All of the designers were given a challenge to make a project with lots of shimmer! I sure hope you can see the shimmer and shine on my card! I tried so hard to photograph this but shimmer and shine doesn't show up very well for me! Hopefully, you can see it in your imagination! :) For my card, I used some gorgeous SEI Peppermint Mint Foil paper for my color inspiration. For my cardstock, I used Sage Shadow, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White. I stamped the poinsettia image from the set called Blessed Christmas four times and water-colored each one with ODBD ink pads: Olive, Victorian Rose and Terra Cotta. I cut out three of the poinsettias in various ways in order to layer them all together. I cut out the main image with a Spellbinders Oval die and sponged the edges. Then I sponged around the image with Sage Shadow ink. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the designer paper and then I sprayed the paper and all the poinsettia images with Suede Glimmer Mist!!! Seriously, I love this stuff! The Suede color is so pretty and sparkly but it also gives a Shabby Chic look that I love! It doesn't take too long to dry but you can always speed things along with your heat tool. I sponged the oval and layered this to a sponged Spellbinders Labels 4 die-cut. Then I put the poinsettia together. I love the way this gives it so much dimension! I punched a strip of Sage Shadow with an EK Success border punch and sponged. I lined up the sentiment with a Stamp-a-ma-jig and attached the strip to the card. Well, then I decided to glimmerize the ribbon! This just added to the shabby chic look! I finished the card with pretty pearls! What do you think?

Now, you can play along with our Shimmer and Shine Challenge! Just make a Holiday card with lots of shimmer using any type of shimmer and shine products you have. You do not have to use Our Daily Bread designs stamps but if you have them, we would love to see them! Link your card to the Latest Challenge Thread on the ODBD blog by Nov 15th at 8PM EST. You could be the winner of a $30.00 store credit!!!

Now head on over to Betty's blog to see what she has created and to get the next word you need to win the Poinsettia Collection! After visiting Betty, the next stop will be Silke's blog!

I suppose you would like to know my word now!
Ok, Ok!
My secret word is....

SAVIOR

Have fun today!

You will have until the 8PM EST on November 3rd
to email the DT names and their words!!

Good luck to all of you!!!!
