April Christmas Cards

Hi everyone!  Here are ten more Christmas cards for my stash this year!  I have a great start since joining the SCS Christmas Card Challenge again this year!  WooHoo!

Since I am trying to keep it simple for mailing purposes, there is only one embellishment!  The ODBD set I used is We Three Kings.  I used Brown Memento ink.  I cut out the stars and attached them with glue dots and added stickles to each star.  Clean and simple!  Yeah!

Thanks for stopping by!  See you again soon!

You have until Wednesday, May, 9th at 6 pm. The winner will be announced May 10th!

We hope you enjoy hopping with us today!  If you arrived here from the talented Lori's blog then you are in the right place!  If not, just head back to the ODBD blog to start from the beginning.

I have two cards to share today!  Here is the first one:

And here are the two sets I used on this card:

I stamped the daffodils with Memento ink and colored with copics.  I stamped extra flowers for layering.  I embossed the background with a SU! folder and then popped up the extra daffodils.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a Spellbinders Oval and matted with a Spellbinders Floral Ovals.  I added the pearls and the sweet little bow that I made with Becca's Peg Bow Maker!  Lastly, I spritzed it with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist.

Here is my second card!

And here are the two sets I used to make it:

I started by embossing the designer paper with the SU! folder again and after attaching to the card base I used a corner rounder on just the one corner.  I know I haven't mentioned it in a while but the adhesive I use most is the Scotch ATG Tape Glider.  It is one of the best crafty things I have ever bought!  Anyway, I stamped and colored all the tulips with copics and cut each one out.  It's not too intricate so cutting wasn't too bad.  I also cut the entwined stems to make two separate pieces.  Next I added the lace and the Spellbinders birdcage. I placed each tulip 'inside' the birdcage using a bit of glue on the stems and foam tape on the blooms.  Then I added some Cheery Lynn Designs Flourishes to the mix!  I stamped the word Joy three times and punched with the little SU! tag punch and place here and there.  The little blue rose cameo is from The Girl's Paperie.  I picked up a pack at Archiver's recently.
Anyway, here is one more look:

Thanks you so much for hopping with us today!!!!
Hope you are enjoying your stroll through the garden!

Party Animal!

Hi there!  Hope you are doing good this week!!!
I made this card for my sweet grandson!  He just turned SIX!!!

The image is C. C. Designs Sugarplums Balloon Trevor and is colored with copics.  I cut him out and popped him up over the the Imaginisce designer paper.  The paper and the chipboard stickers are part of the B-day Bash Collection that is now retired, I think.

The Passionately Artistic Blog would like to invite you to link up your latest project!
Enjoy your day!!!

A Dog Is...

Hello there! Our Daily Bread designs has several new sets this month that help express sympathy over the loss of a pet. Since our pets are such a part of our families now-a-days, these stamp sets come in handy.  I used the Dog Sympathy set on this card, coloring the image with copics.  The papers are Basic Grey.

I am linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday Blog!  Every week they have a beautiful scripture or encouraging quote for your use on your creation.  Or you can always use one of your own as long as it is scripture or an encouraging sentiment or quote!

I would like to invite you to the Passionately Artistic Blog, to link up your latest project!  It's a great way to get extra exposure to your blog and your talents!  Hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Nostalgia

Good morning!  It's been a little while since I posted and I have missed you!  Hope you all are having a blessed week!  I have another card to share using the new ODBD Cat Sympathy set!  In case you can't tell, I absolutely love this little kitten image!  It is so perfect for so many occasions, not just sympathy cards!  I remember growing up, almost every card that was given to me had a kitten on it!  I love kittens and cats.  For this card, I wanted to re-create that nostalgic feel.  I colored the image with copics in softer, more vintage shades and then cut it out with a Spellbinders Oval.  This fit just right behind the pretty Tattered Angels frame.  The gorgeous papers are Prima Pixie Glen.  The little flower is Prima too.  The twine under the flower is re-cycled, it was tied around the blue seam binding!  Now about that bow, isn't it so pretty!  I'm sure you have heard about Becca's Peg Bow Maker by now, but just in case you haven't, I am here to tell you that I am in love with Becca's Peg Bow Maker!!!

I used it for the first time to create the beautiful bow you see on this card!  It is really so easy to use and the quality of this tool is beyond compare!  I LOVE it!!!!  I also sprayed the finished card with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist.

This card is for the following challenges:

(S-sweet kitten image,P-pearls,R-recycled twine,I-ink,N-new designer paper,G-glimmer mist)

WORD0412-W-A-R-M (SCS Fan Club Challenge)
(W-white card stock behind image,A-antiqued,R-ribbon,M-martha punches)

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a most gorgeous day!!!

Happy Wednesday!

I love this sweet kitten image!  She is just so fun to color!  She is part of the new ODBD Cat Sympathy set.  But this is definitely not a sympathy card!  The new Pet Sympathy sets fill a great need in the stamping world but the images are so versatile that you can use them alone for other types of cards!  I colored the image with copics and cut it out with a circle Spellbinders and matted it with a Lacey Circle Spellbinders.  The base card is covered with SU! designer paper with a strip of red card stock.  I had actually made the base card a long time ago and didn't use it!  So I pulled it out of my scraps, determined to finally create a card with it!  I rounded the corners and added the pretty eyelet lace to the edge.  Then I added the Bow Easy bow and the Martha butterflies.  Finished the card with black rhinestones!

I made this for the Passionately Artistic Blog!
We invite you to visit the blog today and link your latest project!

Thanks for coming by!  Have a wonderful day!

With Sympathy

Hello everyone!  During the ODBD April Release Day Blog Hop a few days ago, I was inspired by a couple of fellow bread sticks to do a shaped card!  I have done these in the past but not too many.  I tend to stay in my little comfort zone of nice square cards!  LOL!!!  I am gonna try to do more of these because I really do enjoy making them!  Anyway,  I cut out the base card with the Spellbinders Labels 25, and cut out another label from white card stock and one from the Prima Designer Paper.  Before gluing all the pieces together I inked up the edges of the designer paper with distress ink.  I stamped the sentiment on a smaller label.  This sentiment is from a new ODBD set called Paw Prints.  This set was created to compliment the Pet Sympathy sets however this particular sentiment could also be used for people.  Always good to have sympathy cards ready, so you don't have to make one or more during such an emotional time.  The ribbon and bow I added is actually from some packaging!  Knew I would use it one day!!!  I added some little white buttons, pearls and snips of Cheery Lynn Designs leaves.  I also sprayed the card with Glimmer Mist to give it a nice sheen!

I am linking this up with Word Art Wednesday!  Love their challenges!

Thanks for visiting with me today!!!

Faux Pressed Flowers

Hi there!  I have another sweet kitten card to share today!
In case you are looking for the ODBD April release day blog hop,
just scroll down to the next post or click HERE

The TLC challenge on Splitcoast today is Faux Pressed Flowers.  The tutorial called for paper flowers but I used some SU satin flowers I have had in my stash for some time.  Turned out ok I think.  You just glue the flowers down and then run them through your Cuttlebug with whatever embossing folder you like best!  Very easy and cool outcome!  I colored this sweet kitten from the new ODBD set called Cat Sympathy with copics.  I cut it out with a Spellbinders Oval and popped it up on a Spellbinders Floral Oval.  A strip of white lace, some humongous pearls, and some pretty pink Cheery Lynn Designs butterflies complete the card!  So glad you stopped by!  Enjoy your evening!
