This and That...

  

Hello friends.   This has been a sad couple of months for us.  I posted in November that my sweet Daddy passed away.  And now, my Mother in Law has gone to be with Jesus too.  I have been her caregiver for the last two years.  She had Alzheimer's.  We were able to keep her in her own home until the end.  Her last moments were peaceful and for that I am thankful.  And I am also thankful she has her memory restored 

now!!!  Needless to say, our Thanksgiving and Christmas were pretty sad.  But with the Lord's help, we will make it through!  One day at a time!  

Now I want to get back on track.  Kelley and my DT sisters have been so good to me!  And Kelley said to take as long as I need but I have to get back to making cards!  It is therapy for me as I am sure many of you can understand!  So here is my last card for 2013!!!

 I used two new ODBD sets for this shabby card. 

Ornate Borders and Flowers and Ornate Borders Sentiments along with 

the Custom Ornate Borders and Flowers Dies.

Ornately Embossed

Hello there!  Hope y'all had a great weekend! 

 I had a chance to play in the TLC on Splitcoast today.  

The challenge was to clear emboss on dark colored card stock.  

I used the new ODBD Ornate Borders and Flowers set along with the Custom Ornate Borders and Flowers dies to create my card.  I used a stylus on the backside of the yellow flower for a little dimension too.  A quick and easy card!

Double Z-Fold Card!

I chose to do a Double Z-Fold card!  I followed the tutorial on SCS here.

I used several new ODBD releases. 

    

 

I even added a die cut to the back to hold the ribbon in place!

A Shabby Happy Birthday

Hi there!  I have shabby card to share today!  The new ODBD Ornate Borders and Flowers set with the Custom Ornate Borders and Flowers dies are so fun to play with!  The birthday sentiment is from the Ornate Sentiments set.  Several pieces of this card were 'rejects' from precious card attempts!  Yes I save way more stuff than I should but I just know I may use that one little piece one day!

Looking Back at the NCC November Release!

 Good morning!  

Today we are looking back at the North Coast Creations November release!

My first card features Santa Claws!  I colored the image with copics and cut it out.  I stamped and colored a second time so I could cut out the hat and the ribbon.  Those are popped up just a tad for a little dimension.  The background is Spellbinders A-2 Filigree Delight.  I finished the card with a seam binding bow and a touch of stickles!

Here is my second card:

For this card I colored the image from Santa Paws with copics and cut it out with the ODBD Custom Elegant Ovals die.  I used a copic to outline the oval.  It's popped up onto a shaped card cut with Spellbinders A-2 Floral Ribbon Threader die.  I added a sweet little bow to complete the card.

Here is a close up of my first card:

This card features Ornate Borders and Flowers along with the Custom Ornate Borders and Flowers dies and the Ornate Borders Sentiments.  I paired this month's new dies with the Custom Antique Labels and Borders dies. I added lots of lace and a seam binding bow to get a shabby chic look!

 For this card I was going for an elegant look.  I stamped the Ornate Background and the Ornate Borders and Flowers with Versamark and clear embossed. The sentiment is from the Ornate Borders Sentiments set.  I added pretty foliage from the Fancy Foliage Dies.  A pearl to the center of the flower was the finishing touch!  Here is close up showing the embossing details:
