We are having a special anniversary week here at ODBD and have had a great week so far!  Today, several of the bread sticks have cards to share with you that feature the wonderful backgrounds that ODBD has to offer!  Today it is all about BACKGROUNDS!!!  If you arrived here from Grace's Blog   then you are in the right place! I chose three backgrounds to use for this card!!!  Yes, three!!!  

Old Flag Background

Wood Background

He Shall Be Called Background

I stamped the Wood Background first in brown ink and then stamped the Old Flag Background in black ink.  I colored the flag in with copics and then used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink dragging it over the image to give it that distressed/aged look.  On the background behind the flag layer, I stamped the Wood Background in brown and then the He Shall Be Called Background in black.  I did the same inking technique on this layer but used less ink.  Then I tore some lace into pieces, and glued and smooshed it into place in the corner.  I stamped the sentiment from the God Bless America set, and cut it out with the Spellbinders Ribbon Banners die.  I glued down the USA charm and hemp twine to complete the card!  Here is a closer view:

You are all such a blessing to me!  

Thank you so much following my blog and giving me such 

beautiful comments that I treasure and love reading!  

I am so thankful! 

 I am sharing this card with you today!  I have used two new ODBD sets.  Faithful Friend and Flourished Verses.  The designer paper is Prima-Romantique.  I made a sort of collage, cutting out the pretty lady and gluing her down over other cut out pieces.  I used a Tim Holtz vintage Photo ink pad to rub all over to get that distressed/aged look.  I cut out a frame with two Spellbinders Ovals and added the pretty dragonfly in the center.  The dragonfly is colored with copics and 'stickled'!  The lace is torn into pieces, then glued and smooshed down along the edges.  I added the sentiment tag and then a pretty Bow Easy bow with seam binding.  I used copics to highlight the outside edge of the lady and then added some pearls to complete the card.  Here is a close up view:

Flower Soft Fun!

Hi there!  I've got two cards to share with you!  I have been playing with Flower Soft!  Love that stuff!  

This first card is done with the new ODBD set called The Light of Life.  Such a beautiful old lantern scene!  I stamped it twice so that I could cut it out and pop it up a bit.  I colored the image with copics, used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to place the scripture and added the pretty Cheery Lynn Designs flourish and Flower Soft!

I am entering this to the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge this week!

This second card is all frilly and lacy!  And easy with the Flower Soft Lavender Papercraft Kit!  These are designed to be cut out with the Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals.  The sentiment is from the new ODBD set called Flourished Verses.  I added the lace, Bow Easy lace bow, pearls and of course the beautiful Flower Soft!

The watering can image is from the ODBD Happy Birthday Set, colored with copics and cut out with the coordinating custom Watering Can die.  The bamboo frame and scripture are from the new set called Sweet Friendship.  The embossed backgrounds are done with SU! embossing folders.  Added the lace border and buttons and the Bow Easy bow to complete the card!

Hi there!!  Got a couple of cards to share today!  This one is for the following challenges:

I used the new ODBD set called Faithful Friend.  The designer paper in the background is embossed with a SU! folder and I rounded the top corners.  I glued down two types of lace and then added the Cheery Lynn Designs doily, the sentiment Spellbinders circle and the CLD flourishes.  Then I glued down the Bow Easy bow and the pretty Prima flower.  I stamped the dragonfly and colored it with copics before cutting it out and gluing to the card.  Then I added stickles to the dragonfly!

I used the Faithful Friend set on this card too.  The designer paper is Prima.  I sliced off part of the Cheery Lynn Doily and stamped the sentiment.  Added velvet ribbon and lace and pearls to the edge.  a Bow Easy lace bow and Prima flower along the side more pearls too.  Stamped the dragonfly with the same brown ink as the sentiment and cut it out.  I had to add stickles on him so hope that counts for the no coloring challenge!

Here are my card details:

I have used the new set called Flourished Verses.  This is such a great versatile set to have in your arsenal of stamps!  I used the Faux Letterpress technique for my background squares within the large white square.  I inked up the Cuttlebug Preserves folder with Bordering Blue ink and then ran it through my Cuttlebug.  Then I sprayed the inked/embossed paper with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist and when it dried I cut into squares.  I loosely followed the sketch challenge from this week at SCS.  Instead of the oval in the center of the card I chose to use this great Spellbinders birdcage!  Then I added the little banner across the top with embroidery thread and freehand cut triangles for the TLC this week.   The sentiment is cut with a Spellbinders rectangle and the large white square frame was done with two Spellbinders squares.  The bird is part of the same birdcage set.  I added the rhinestones and the more Marshmallow Glimmer Mist to complete the card.
