Bright and Beautiful

Good Morning! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
Got in some playing time this morning! Yay!

I checked out the Inspiration Challenge for today and chose this adorable bedding to use as the inspiration for this card. I loved the bold bright colors of the bedding. I'm sneak peeking a new set to be released January 1st by Our Daily Bread designs called Noah's Ark.

By the way, stay tuned to the ODBd Blog for upcoming surprises
beginning in January!
Exciting things coming soon!!!

The base card is 5x5 American Crafts textured cards I picked up recently at Hobby Lobby. The designer paper is Raspberry Tart from StampinUp! which I've used with Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Cameo Coral and Whisper White. The Cameo Coral layer is distressed with my distressing tool. I cuttlebugged the designer paper with the Victoria folder. Each sentiment is stamped in Memento Black. I cut the main sentiment out with Spellbinders rectangles and popped it up with foam tape. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the Welcome Baby! sentiment. I used Martha's lacy punch and the EKSuccess scallop border punch. This gorgeous Prima flower matches so pretty with this paper and helps to make this card nice and girly. The leaves are made with StampinUp's 5 Petal punch. I added Zva pearls to finish the card.

Don't forget to visit with us on January 1st!
Gorgeous new sets to be released,
a Blog Hop and Prizes,
and
some exciting news coming!!!!
Your gonna love it!!!

I wanted to mention something else. I was recently asked to be a designer for the Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot! I am very excited about this new opportunity, so stay tuned for that!

And I also want to say how much I appreciate all of you for following
my blog and being so supportive and encouraging!
I hope you all have a New Year full of God's many blessings!

His Indescribable Gift!

Just a couple of more days until Christmas!!!!
Happy Birthday Jesus!!!

Here is one more card using the new set called His Gift by Our Daily Bread designs! After talking with some of my fellow ODBd designers, I wanted to try my hand at sponging and masking with this set! Lo and behold! This technique works nicely with this gorgeous poinsettia image designed by Dina Kowal! Thanks for the encouragement ladies! After cutting out a mask, I sponged the image with ODBd inkpads; Victorian Rose, Terra Cotta, and Olive. Then I sprayed it with Suede Glimmer Mist for a touch of sparkle! I sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink and dabbed a little in the center of the poinsettia too. I then added the Spellbinders Lace border which is also sponged. This was layered with a cuttlebugged piece of Melon Mambo and then a layer of Old Olive that I distressed with a distressing tool. The base card is Soft Suede. I added a bow I made with my Bow Easy and lastly, Zva pearls along the border and in the center of the flower.

Merry Christmas y'all!
Thanks for stopping by tonight!
See ya soon!

Joy to the World

Hi y'all! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas season! I just spent the weekend with my family, enjoying special moments, wonderful food and a teeny bit of snow! I made this card tonight for this week's Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge. For this card, I chose a set called Joy to the World by Our Daily Bread designs. I stamped the Holy Family and the sentiment with Versamark and Memento Brown ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I cut them out with Spellbinders nestibilities dies. The strip of chocolate chip paper along the side is punched with a Martha border punch, embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and sponged with Chocolate Chip ink. The SEI designer paper is also embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and the edges are sponged. This is layered with Chocolate Chip and attached to a Kraft base card. I added Zva pearls to finish the card.

Luke 1: 26-32: 26In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you."

29Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David." (NIV)

I hope you all have a blessed Christmas

and wonderful 2010!

Thanks for stopping by!

Tenderness for the Past

Just one more week left until Christmas! Are you ready? I think I am! But you know there is always something you think of at the last minute! Anyway, I've been so busy that I haven't had time to make a card but I couldn't stand it another minute! I made this tonight for the Dirty Dozen sketch and theme this month. I used a piece of SEI designer paper that I sprayed with Brick Glimmer Mist, and attached this to a piece of Night of Navy. I colored the poinsettia image from the set called His Gift by Our Daily Bread designs with copic markers and then misted this with Brick Glimmer Mist. I made the bows with my little Bow Easy. I used an
EK Success border punch and Martha's leafy branch punch. This is all attached to a base card of Ruby Red. I added gold pearls to finish the card.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Thanks for stopping by tonight!

Taking a Few Moments to Play

Well, I don't know about y'all but I have been busy, busy this last week!!!! Finally, I was able to sit down and make a couple of cards! Ahh! A little stress relief from the hustle and bustle!

This first card is for this week's Featured Stamper Challenge. Pam124 is honored this week and if you haven't had a chance to check out her gallery, what are you waiting for? Not only is she a very talented card maker, she leaves the sweetest comments!! I chose this card to case because I loved her ribbon treatment so much! My base card is Whisper White. I layered this beautiful SEI designer paper with Old Olive. I used the Loopy Martha border punch and with my Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamped the scripture from the Our Daily Bread designs new set called Peace and Joy on this panel instead of the bottom of the card. The snowflake is Martha's too and I added a pretty sparkly pearl on top! Thanks for the inspiration Pam and congratulations!

This card combines the Midnight Madness sketch and the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge to pull out your stored treasures and use them! Well, I would have to say that I pulled out some pearls and used them everywhere!!! The base is Close to Cocoa. More gorgeous SEI paper layered with Ruby Red. I cut out the partial circles with a Circle Nestie. I added some organdy ribbon I have been saving and made the bow with my Bow Easy tool. The sentiment is part of the new Our Daily Bread designs set called His Gift and is heat embossed with Versamark, Memento Brown and clear embossing powder. This was cut out with another nestie and layered with a scallop nestie and adhered with foam tape. I added Zva pearls pretty much everywhere to finish the card!

Thanks for visiting with me tonight!
I hope you can take a few moments to play during the hustle and bustle!
Come back soon!

Three more Christmas cards!!!

Happy Sunday! I just cannot believe how close it is 'til Christmas! No, I'm not ready!

I have three cards to show you today. This first one is one that I made for a recent Midnight Madness sketch and rejected. I reworked it by stamping the image again, coloring and cutting it out and adhering over the original image. Now I like it better! This Our Daily Bread designs stamp set is called We Three Kings. I colored the image with copics and masked and sponged the scene behind it. The side panels are velvet ribbon. The colors are Sahara Sand, Not Quite Navy, and Night of Navy.

This next card is my submission for last week's Featured Stamper Challenge. Mrs Boz was the honoree last Sunday! She has such a great gallery! I chose this card to case because I wanted to use that flocked paper! I used Our Daily Bread designs set called Joy to the World. The nativity is embossed with white powder. I colored just the word Joy from one of the sentiments with a Real Red marker for my circle. I added an extra layer of white, and Zva pearls in the corner.

And this is for today's Featured Stamper Challenge. Today the honor goes to mitchygitchygoomy! Great gallery to check out! This is the card I chose. I used a similar color scheme, sponged around the image and used stickles to glitter things up a tad! Or a lot, however you want to look at it! haha! I colored this beautiful snowflake from the Peace and Joy set by Our Daily Bread designs with several brown copics, sponged around in Creamy Caramel, Bashful blue, and Bordering Blue. Then I added the stickles. I added a layer of Copper paper to match the snowflake and the base card is Mellow Moss stamped with the Linen background in versamark to mimic the textured paper of the inspiration card! I put my Bow Easy bow in the opposite corner and added three pearls at the bottom!

I hope you all have a great week! Thanks for stopping by today!!!
Now, I gotta go do some decorating!

Midnight Snow

Hello everyone!!!! Hope you all had a great week!

I just finished up this card for this week's Midnight Madness Sketch! (Hi ladies! Hope you all are doing great!!!) An extra little challenge to add something on the card that flies was added to the sketch this week. Well, snowflakes fly don't they? hehe! I let this beautiful SEI designer paper dictate my colors; Always Artichoke, White, and Red. The snowflakes are the main images from the newly released set from Our Daily Bread designs called Peace and Joy. I stamped the large snowflake in versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder. The little snowflake is stamped in artichoke and cut out to layer. I used Spellbinders dies (circle, Fleur-de-Lis and Inverted Circle) to layer. All layers, except for the designer paper) is sprayed with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist. The ribbon is SU! I added the tiny red rhinestones to complete the card!

Thanks for looking and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Two Challenges Collide!

Hey y'all!! Hope everyone has had a great day!

I just made this for this week's color challenge and this month's Dirty Dozen challenges! The colors we were challenged with were Basic Black, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla with an extra challenge to make it sparkle. I used the Dirty Dozen sketch and extra challenge to add texture. This sentiment is from one of the new December sets from Our Daily Bread designs called Peace and Joy. I embossed a piece of vanilla cardstock with the StampinUp! poinsettia embossing folder and sprayed it with Suede and Marshmallow Glimmer Mist. I used an EK Success border punch on the strips and added lace and black ribbon. The sentiment is cut out and layered with Spellbinders die cut squares (classic, inverted and scallop). I made the bow with my Bow Easy tool. I added Zva pearls and black pearls. Then I added the Martha branches and more pearls to finish the card!

Thanks for looking and have a great night!

Here are the new sets!!

Peace and Joy

His Gift

I have made a card for each set to show you today!
The first is with the Peace and Joy set.

Aren't these snowflakes just gorgeous?! I stamped the snowflakes on Blush Blossom cardstock with Memento Brown ink and sponged each one with Blush Blossom ink. They are sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist and then cut out. To each snowflake I added brown pearls and some Zva pearls. The sentiment is cut out with a spellbinders ribbon tag and attached with SU! ribbon. I made the pretty bow using my little Bow Easy tool! The back ground is embossed with the new Holly Ribbons Cuttlebug folder, sponged around the edges and sprayed with Glimmer Mist too. This is all layered with Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip cardstock and added to a base of Blush Blossom.

And here is my second card made with His Gift!
This beautiful set was designed by former ODBD designer Dina Kowal!

This card evolved so many times! First I colored the image with various copics. But I wasn't satisfied, so then I painted it with Glimmer Mist (Brick and Pearl) and a small paintbrush. Still, I wasn't satisfied with the outcome, so I copic'd and sponged some more! Then I used my craft knife to cut out some of the petals to lift them up with foam tape. I used my Bow Easy again and added some wisps of gold cord. Then I added lots of gold pearls in the center of the poinsettia. I layered this onto Ruby Red, Always Artichoke and a base of Old Olive.

I hope you like my cards today! These new sets are so gorgeous! And I can't wait to see who wins this month's Blog Hop contest! Beginning in January, Our Daily Bread designs will have monthly challenges and that means more chances to win! So stay tuned for that!

Now, please head right on over to Dawn's blog
