Yay!!! Sneak Peek!!!

Well, Hello!!! 

Got a little sneak peek for you today!!!  February is just a couple of days away and Our Daily Bread designs will be releasing some great new stuff!  I made this card for the ODBDSLC224-Anything Goes with ODBD stamps and for WT517-Beads challenge on SCS.  This beautiful silhouette and sentiment is from one of the new sets!  I also used the Faithful Fish Pattern die and the Vintage Flourish Pattern die to make this card.

Shout for Joy!

 

Good morning!  

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, 

burst into jubilant song with music. 

 Psalms 98.4

Do you ever burst into song praising Jesus?  Sometimes I wake up 'bursting' with song! Usually a beautiful hymn that will be on my mind throughout the day!  No matter how my day is going, I can think of that hymn and hum it to myself or shout it out loud, and my day is all the better! 

This beautiful psalm is now a stamp and is part of the new Music Speaks set from ODBD!  Today, I am playing in the Inspiration Challenge from the Our Daily Bread designs blog seen HERE and in the Word Art Wednesday Challenge seen HERE!   These beautiful papers, from the Blushing Rose Paper Collection, are perfect for this challenge!  I cut and embossed the bottom layer with the new Faithful Fish Die.  I sponged it with Sage ink.  The Psalm is cut out with Vintage Label Dies and backed with a Vintage Flourish Pattern Die cut.  Then I added two little birds cut with the Bird Cage and Banner Dies.  Finished it off with eyelet trim and a seam binding bow!

Taking a Look Back at the ODBD January Release!

 Good morning! 

We are happy to have you with us today as we look back 

at the January Release from ODBD! 

My first card features Music Speaks.  It is stamped onto a die cut from the Vintage Flourish Pattern dies.  I colored the image with copics.  I stamped the image a second time in blue and cut out the bird adhering it to the panel.  I added the little bow from the Circle Ornament dies to complete the card.

Here is my next card:

I am really loving practicing mixed media techniques!  I used several pieces of various ODBD Designer Papers, some torn and some straight cuts I had saved.  I used Matte Gel medium to glue it all down.  There are a couple of pieces of dictionary paper in there too!  I used a lego block with gesso to stamp the little white circles.  I stamped the Treble Clef and the sentiment from Music Speaks onto designer paper and cut out to glue down as well.  I had to be careful so the distress ink I used would not smear.  I did want the ink to smear around the edges where I stamped the music though.  Kinda cool!  I also used blue paint and then the same distress ink to outline the card panel.  There is a strip of one of the Beautiful Borders at the bottom too.  Adding the vintage yellow ric rac was fun!  :D

Rock On!

Good morning!  

I finally had time to play in the Sketch Challenge at Splitcoast yesterday!  Woohoo! 

I am really loving this new Rock Star set from ODBD!  So fun to to create those dreaded masculine cards!  LOL!!!  And I did the watercolor wash technique which is a rarity for me.  It was fun!  I used distress ink pads rubbed onto wax paper.   I spritzed water into the ink, swirled it around with a brush and then set the watercolor paper (which had also been spritzed with water) into the ink several time.  After letting the blue ink dry I did it again with red, but not as much.  I also used a brush to kind of get a little more red trailing from the guitar.  The ODBD Patriotic designer paper panels are lightly coated with gesso.  Except for the Pennant die cut, I left it as is.  I stamped the image again and cut out just the guitar.  I colored it with matching copics and popped it up over the original image.  I tucked a little bit of a Beautiful Border die cut and then all the Sparkling Stars to complete the card.  Here is another look:

Taking a Look Back at the NCC December Release!

Good morning!  So glad you are with us today!

  

We are taking a look back at the adorable new sets from North Coast Creations.  My first card, above, features the I Dig You set.  I colored the image with copics and then cut it out.  The back tire is popped up with a double layer of foam tape.  The papers are from the ODBD Patriotic Collection.

Here is my second card:

This one features Dump Truck Birthday.  Again I colored it and cut it out to pop it up on the background.  And I used more papers from the ODBD Patriotic Collection.

Good morning and Happy New Year!!!  So excited to have you with us on this first day of 2015!  Our Daily Bread designs has a brand new release and the bread sticks have been busy creating!  Be sure and make the rounds to all the designer's blogs and make comments for your chance to win!

My first card features a couple of the new releases:  Grunge Piano Background and Rock Star.  Aren't they cool?!  I did lots of distressing and sponging to get that grunge look.  I cut the star out with the Sparkling Stars dies. Adding the tickets from some of last month's releases (Admit One, Admit Three and Mini Tag Dies) was fun!  The guitar was stamped a second time and fussy cut to pop up on the original stamp.

The new Faithful Fish Pattern Die is so cool!  I love the embossing!  I colored the Treble Clef image and cut it out with the Vintage Flourish Pattern die and matted with a Vintage Label die.  A quick and easy card!
