Spellbinders Pendant Contest Cards

In case you haven't noticed I am crazy about Spellbinders dies! And the new ones they have been introducing the last few weeks are just gorgeous! Well, they are holding a contest using the new pendants and/or matching borderabilities and I have decided to give it a try! I used the Grow in Grace Set from Our Daily Bread designs on all three cards. The only other stamp I used is an unmounted bird stamp I picked up at a stamp show a while back in the Stamp Camp booth. On two of the cards I used the In Spades Borderabilities set. For the other card I used the Fleur De Lis Pendant.

I did lots of sponging, distressing and masking on this first card.
I added Hero Arts pearls and flowers with a brad from SU!'s Vanilla Hodge Podge Hardware kit.

This next one was fun!
I embossed the pendant first and sponged inside the die
and outside the die while it was still in place.
Then I layered (with foam tape), a cut out pendant, Inverted Scallop Circles, more of the pendant die cuts and then a Labels Three die.
The sentiment is heat embossed. I also used an Ornare piercing template in the corners and added pretty little pearls.

I wish you could see the shimmer on this next card!
I sprayed Glimmer Mist on a piece of BasicGrey designer paper.
The In Spades border is threaded with ribbon and wrapped around.
I added SU!' die cut leaves and Hero Arts flowers and pearls.

To see all contest cards, here is a link.
Well, we'll see what happens! Wish me luck!
And thanks for visiting with me again tonight! We'll see you again soon!

Midnight Madness and August Sneak Peek

It's time for a little peek at one of the new Our Daily Bread designs sets! This one is called Jesus. For this card I used the sketch from the Midnight Madness blog. I tried to keep this fairly simple because I didn't want to take away from the beauty of this stamp set. I stamped Jesus and cut the image out and just edged around it with the ink pad. He is popped up over the sentiment frame which is cut out with Spellbinders Classic Frame with the bottom half cut off so that I could add the Spellbinders Classic Lace border. I did some sponging while the dies were still in place. I added ribbon and one rhinestone. The background polka dot paper is StampinUp! Taste of Textiles paper. Thanks for coming by today! Have a great Saturday evening!

Grace

Here is another card using the beautiful Amazing Grace sets from Our Daily Bread designs. I had so much fun making my own designer paper for the background! I stamped the hymn and the dogwood flowers first. Then I sponged using ODBD ink pads. I then sprayed it with Glimmer Mist! That was it! Here is a closer view of the paper by itself:

I cut the sentiment out with Spellbinders Petite Ovals. Then I stamped the flowers several times, water-colored them with the same ink pads and sprayed them with Glimmer Mist. I cut three of the extra flowers to layer over the original image. I added Brown Flower Soft to the centers.

I used an EK Success border punch for the edge. Added pretty white ribbon and Martha's butterflies with Hero Arts pearls to finish the card! Thanks so much for coming by for a visit tonight! I hope you are inspired to make your own designer paper!

Lord Bless You

Today's featured stamper is Minnidr! Diane has a wonderful gallery! I chose this card to case tonight! I stamped the tree from the Make a Tree set by Stamp Camp. Then I embossed the square Spellbinder die around it. I masked off the inside of the square to sponge Soft Sky re-inker. The flowers were punched and sponged, and lined up on a piercing mat. I used the ball end of a dry embosser tool to smoosh in the center of the flowers. After gluing them to the tree I added pink stickles to each bloom. The scripture is from a set called Flourished Christian Symbols by Our Daily Bread designs. I die cut it out with a Spellbinders doubled ended tag and added ribbon. Thanks for the inspiration Diane! Hope you have had a fun day!

Thanks for stopping by tonight! Have a great week!

Grow in Grace Porter Inspired

Good morning!!!! Today's inspiration is the work of Tracy Porter. She has some really beautiful things on her website! I was inspired by this! I started by stamping Baroque Motif and highlighting with a white gel pen and then cutting out the bird shape with the Spellbinders Nested Bird. Then I stamped the dogwood flowers from the Grow in Grace set from Our Daily Bread designs, and sponged them with Regal Rose. Then I cut them out and sponged Rose Red and Chocolate Chip along the edges. The leaves are die cut from a SU! die and sponged. I punched the other little flowers, and the butterflies, and the flower center circles. The background is embossed with a cuttlebug folder, and I used my scor-pal for the lattice edge. The ribbon is SU! Always Artichoke. The sentiment is cut out with Spellbinders Labels Trio die and held into place with one of the little flourishes from the Floral Accents SB set. I added Glossy accents to the flowers and leaves, and pretty blue rhinestones to finish the card! This is an unusual color combo don't you think? The artichoke tones down the brightness of the turquoise, which really appeals to me. I used the SU! color wheel to come up with that! I hope ya'll have a wonderful weekend! I'm going to a family reunion today and am looking forward to it! Thanks for stopping by!

Midnight Madness Man Card

Tomorrow is my husband's birthday! Happy Birthday, Honey! I made this to give to him using the Midnight Madness sketch today. I love this To the Nines designer paper for masculine cards! I pulled the colors from that to create this card. I inked up the embossing folder with Sahara Sand before embossing, such a cool outcome! Then, I stamped the images with versamark and heat embossed them with Tim Holtz' vintage embossing powder. Then rubbed it with my finger to help give it that vintage look. I then sponged with Close to Cocoa, Sage Shadow and Always Artichoke. Oh, and I used my distressing tool on the Sahara Sand layer too. Anyway, I thank you for coming by for a visit today! Off to do some errands now!

Featured Stamper Christmas and Playing With New Toys!

Today's Featured Stamper is Kelly (aka Schirmcat)! She is so talented and so sweet! I chose this pretty Christmas card to case today! I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Winter Snowflakes masks to create the bottom portion of my background. On the top portion I used the same mist but used a Tim Holtz mask and added the Spellbinders Grand Classic Lace border instead of real lace. I stamped Baroque Motif at the top with ODBD Victorian Rose ink. The sentiment is from the Joy to the World set by Our Daily Bread designs. I added Pretty in Pink ribbon, Martha's snowflake and brads to finish the card! Thanks Kelly for inspiring me today!

Paper-Sahara Sand, Pretty in Pink
Ink-Memento Brown, ODBD Victorian Rose
Accessories-PIP ribbon, brads, Spellbinders die, cuttlebug, MS punch, corner rounder, glimmer mist and masks

For this next card, I made my own designer paper, again using Glimmer Mist and masks!

I am so hooked on this stuff! I then stamped the background with the Aviary stamp set from BasicGrey. I did a little sponging around the edges too. Then I added the Spellbinder lace border and ribbon and pearls. The sentiment square is cut out with nesties and stamped with a rose from that same set using ODBD Olive ink and Victorian Rose ink. The sentiment is a partial from SU! God's Blessings set.

Central Park Thoughts

I love getting new stamps and paper! I just got the Central Park stamp set and pretty Urban Oasis designer paper from StampinUp! So pretty! I decided to try the Mojo Monday sketch for the first time too! The base card is Kraft. I layered the designer paper with black to make it show up nicely. The image is stamped with Soft Sky re-inker and the outline is Basic Gray. I stamped the sentiment with Memento black but really wanted it to say 'My' so I went rummaging through my stamps and found one from Hero Arts where I could just ink up that one word. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up. I cut out the rectangles with nesties. The black strip underneath is not ribbon! It's black cardstock. I used the photo corner punch to cut the triangle from the bottom! I punched a circle from the same dsp to place inside the hardware and threaded the Kraft satin ribbon through the holes to tie the bow. I added black butterflies to finish the card! Thanks for looking! I hope you have had a wonderful day!

Yesterday is Gone

I made this tonight after a stressful day at work. I am so glad I can come home and enjoy this wonderful craft! Today, I combined two of my most favorite challenges. The color combo challenge from SCS and the Midnight Madness Sketch challenge!!! When I first read the color combo, I thought these colors would never work! I was wrong!!! I don't have Baja Breeze ink so I scribbled Soft Sky re-inker onto an acrylic block and tapped the beautiful lotus bloom from the Mother Teresa set from Our Daily Bread designs into it and stamped. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Let Us Begin set and cut out with a square nestie. The flowers are from the Pretties kit from SU! I colored them with a copic marker(#Y21), going over them several times to get the shade I wanted. I used SU!'s eyelet border punch and EK Success scallop border punch. The hardware is SU! Silver HodgePodge Hardware. The Martha Stewart butterflies have silver half pearls on them. I added a strip of Baja Breeze ribbon and Apricot Appeal ribbon over that. Here's hoping tomorrow is a better day! And I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! Thanks for visiting!

CASEing Sandra!

Today's Featured Stamper at SCS is Sandra! She has a gorgeous gallery and after much consideration I chose this card to case tonight. I kept the layout but changed the stamp sets and colors. I used some Bella Rose designer paper for the three panels. The flowers from the Rose is a Rose set are stamped with Riding Hood Red ink and cut out. The leaves are cut with SU!'s Sizzlits Little Leaves die. The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread designs anniversary set, Scripture Collection 1. I added ribbon and pearls to finish the card! Thanks for taking a look! Hope you have a great week!

Inspired by His Grace

Well, it is morning, and I should be in bed because we are getting up early to go to my mother's for the weekend! But ya'll know how it is, this is what I do! LOL! Anyway, the inspiration challenge is always my favorite challenge of the week! I chose this poster as my inspiration today. I masked and sponged and stamped the background using a combination of the new July sets from Our Daily Bread designs. Then I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist. The flowers were colored with copics (W1, W3, R85,G99) and cut out and sprayed with more Glimmer Mist! I just can't seem to stop using that stuff! And the center of the dogwood flowers has a little flower soft! These stamps are so pretty! Just want to give a little shout out to Dina Kowal! She designed these two sets! She is amazingly talented! Hope everyone has a great 4th of July! Thanks for visiting me today!

Our Daily Bread July Releases Are Here and This is My First Blog Hop!

Today is July 1st! That means it’s release day at Our Daily Bread designs and we are celebrating with a Blog Hop! This is my first Hop and I am so excited! If you landed here after visiting the amazing Silke’s blog, you are on the right course! If not, start at ODBD’s blog to follow along. Kelley, the owner of ODBD, is giving away some great candy several places along the way, so have fun following the Hop!

It’s official! I have been a guest designer for this great company since March, and today I am an official Design Team Member! I love working with Kelley and all of the other ‘breadsticks’. This continues to be one of the best experiences of my life!

Now, on with the show!
The Amazing Grace Collection!

And the Mother Teresa Collection!

The first card I am showing you today focuses on the Amazing Grace sets!

The Hour I First Believed

I made my own designer paper for this card! I stamped the background with the hymn and the dogwood flowers with Memento Black ink. Then I sponged all over with three different Our Daily Bread inkpads: Olive, Terracotta, and Victorian Rose. You may not be able to see but I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist! I have become quite the Glimmer Girl lately! I stamped the flowers with Olive and then stamped the second verse of Amazing Grace over the flower. I cut the ovals with Spellbinders Nestabilities dies and sponged the edges with Rose. I sponged the Hero Arts Flowers with the Rose and Terracotta and layered them together to create the blossom. The scallop border at the bottom was done with an EK Success border punch. I added (SU!)ribbon, cuttlebug corners and Hero Arts Pearls to finish the card!

Paper-Old Olive and White(StampinUp!)

And here is my second card for today’s release.

This card features the Mother Teresa sets!

In The Giving

I sponged and sponged and sponged on this one! Good thing I love sponging! This beautiful lotus blossom and sentiment is heat embossed with Versamark and black embossing powder. I used an oval Nestabilities die for the sentiment and the Labels Four die set for the Lotus and the layer just underneath. I then used an Ornare piercing template for the pierced design above and below the lotus and added black pearls. The next layer is cuttlebugged and sponged. The edges of the olive layer is distressed. I added the ribbon and cross charm. The pink corners were an afterthought. I had discarded them from a previous project, but they match so great with the Victorian Rose ink!

Paper-Rose Red, Old Olive, Really Rust, Regal Rose, White (all SU!)

Ink-ODBD Victorian Rose, Olive, Terracotta

Accessories-Ornare, Spellbinders, Cuttlebug, cross charm, black pearls

You will notice that on both cards I used the same ink colors! Kelley has begun her own line of ink pads! Yep, that’s right! And they are all so gorgeous! So keep hopping because three lucky people will win three ink pads of their choice each! WOW!

From here,

head on over to Kathy’s wonderful blog for some eye candy to ooh and ahh over!

Have fun and thanks for coming by my blog today!
